Why do so many people convict others just because of media resports?
the U.S. is suppose to be about being innocent until proven guilty but so many people are found "guilty" just because the media makes them look that way. why do people let this happen?
Latching on to scandal is our national past-time!
The media takes this convicting approach because it sells more newspapers, subscriptions, etc.
I think people let it happen because the media does not portray those on trial as human beings deserving of privacy.
The best quote I ever heard answers this question.
The statement was made by the wife of President Delano Roosevelt. She said the following, concerning the situation you have asked about.
Intelligent people discuss ideas, everyday - average people discuss events, simple - less intelligent people discuss other people.
Enough said?
Because most people are inherently stupid and don't have ability to function logically. Great answer HSanAlim, love that quote.
Because most of us are perpetually still in a "high school" state of mind where we like drama, gossip, he-said-she-said garbage, scandals, and big macs!

Why are so many people selfish and mean, even to family members?Maybe I shouldn't be surprised any more, but why are so many family members selfish and hurtful to other family members? Life is precious, and flying by, and even if someone isn't your favorite person, why can't more just be kind...
