What has Obama "changed" during his term?

He preached about Change and Hope during his campaign. So, what has he changed? We are still at war, still in a recession, the health care bill did not and will not pass...

He really didn’t change anything of major importance. Most of his campaign promises were empty promises.

The only thing I can think of that he has changed is my own thought that he would be a good president....so far he has been a disappointment in my opinion.

We just got our AAA credit rating down graded to AA. This is the first time in over 70 years that the United States has not had a AAA credit rating. That's a change. By the way, THAT WAS NOT "BUSH'S FAULT".

He changed a few things: He activated the US Navy's 4th Fleet in Panama after 60 years of inactivation when it became apparent that Brazil's offshore oil fields were large enough to potentially keep us fueled for another 70 years. He is re-arming our old battleground of South America in Colombia. He escalated the war in Afghanistan. He ended the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Those are a lot of changes.

The credit rating debacle was not Bush's fault, but it -was- the fault of an uncooperative Congress in which compromise was made virtually impossible. Not everything that happens during a president's administration is within his control. As long as the parties aren't willing to compromise, nobody is going to get what they want. This isn't a dictatorship in which one man can solve all our problems.

But, to name a few things, the Obama administration has seen a drawdown of troops from the Middle East, repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, student loan reform, a nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia, an increase in fuel efficiency requirements, passage of a bill providing healthcare to 4 million uninsured children, and restrictions lifted on stem cell research. We've also closed Guantanamo Bay, passed a health care reform bill preventing insurance companies from denying coverage due to a pre-existing conditions and allowing children to remain on their parents' coverage until the age of 26, and required greater transparency from health insurance plans so we know how much of what we pay goes toward patient care. The administration has lifted restrictions on travel for Cuban Americans who want to visit their families on the island, expanded hate crime law to include sexual orientation, appointed our first Chief Technology Officer, and created more private sector jobs in 2010 than during the entire Bush administration (http://newsjunkiepost.com/2010/10/08/it … ush-years/ ). Obama appointed the first ever Latina to the Supreme Court and signed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to reduce pay discrimination between men and women. He also signed off on a Credit Card Bill of Rights, which prevents credit card companies from arbitrarily increasing their customers' interest rates.

So, everyone's right. Clearly nothing but war mongering and destruction of the economy has occurred during the last few years. Obama hasn't done a thing.
