Are the Torries going too far with the new crime bill?
they want to increase the cost of a pardon by 400% and make anyone with more then 3 convictions unable to be pardoned, is this a good idea?
It was to be expected I would say. People voted them-in so, I guess people welcomed this. I think the Tories are always going too far ...
The 3 strikes laws have been a good thing in California and reduced crime considerably.
It really makes sense that if they don't learn the first 2 times they are going to be repeat offenders. Better to keep them locked up and save the public from further damage. The only complaints about Ca's 3 strikes are media hype.
There was a big outcry when a man was sentenced to 25 years to life for stealing a slice of pizza. But what they don't tell is that he wasn't sentenced for stealing pizza he was sentence for assault on the 3 kids who he stole it from. Just like the man who got the same sentence for stealing a cookie was really charged with breaking and entering and burglary.
