Why is the Catholic Church the health care provider for non catholic women?
Why is the Catholic Church the health care provider for non-catholic women who are entitled to comprehensive health care? If the Catholic Church is the health care provider available to women who are not Catholic and receives federal funds, the contraceptive question is not about religious freedom but separation of church and state and the Catholic Church is failing as a health care provider for comprehensive womens health.
People most likely go the the Catholic hospital because they wish to. Perhaps it is where their doctor is. Nobody is forced to got there.
The Catholic Church includes churches, hospitals, schools, charitable services, homes for batted women, homes for unwed mothers and much more. Some of the employees at these places are non Catholic.
People go to Catholic hospitals because they are good hospitals. In my city, all head trauma cases transported by EMS go to the Catholic hospital. Burn victims go to another hospital. The Catholic hospital has a cancer center.
Many non-Catholics use Catholic hospitals. In Baton Rouge, the hospitals cooperate and do not compete. We have one hospital that handles all of the births. We have a charity hospital that is going to be closed and rebuilt. Sometimes when an indigent patient is stable, he will be transferred to the charity hospital.
Finally, the Catholic hospital here in Baton Rouge, is the largest hospital in the city and is classified as a Regional Medical Center.
The contraception issue does not affect patients in a Catholic hospital. The issue is about people working for Catholic-based institutions and facilities.

Women. God’s afterthought and man’s curse to rule.I think it quite ironic that God, who tells us to reproduce as his first commandment to man in Genesis 1, does not give us something to reproduce with till Genesis 2; 18. Further, only after a severe chastisement without correction, even to death,...

I take birth control pills for medical reasons. I have PCOS. Without it, my hormones would be imbalanced and I'd be at risk for uterine cancer. There are many women like me. I find it disturbing that those who oppose covering birth control don't know this and equally appalled that those...

It is quite obvious that Catholics do not follow many things in the Bible. They look at the Church as the one that sets all standards. Why is it so?
