What possibilities exist where bullet trains get involved in accidents?
We hardly hear about accidents involving bullet trains.
If you Google "high speed train accidents" you'll find about a dozen accident reports from the last 5 years. Most of the high speed rail systems are in Europe and Asia (mostly China). Generally speaking, high speed or bullet trains operate on track that is designed for the express purpose of operating these trains. They do not share the track with freight trains or other non high speed trains. Most of these high speed systems have fully automated signaling and track management systems, virtually eliminating the possibility of human error.
