What do I do about a shoplifting charge?
Me and a friend went to a discount store and she was stuffing the bags with merchandise and I had my purse in the cart with the stolen belongings. We got caught going half way out the store and they told us to come with them. Went to the back room and they told us both to empty the bags together and charge both of us with shoplifting charges and she went to jail for other attempts. But I didn't have anything in my purse but my belongings. I hired a lawyer, $750.00. It was for a first offense charge. I live in Nebraska. Will they drop the charges? And will she be charged for everything?
