Would you be offended if someone told you they were emigrating from America?

The person in question is economically stable and has a wonderful family, but fears that a decade down the road America's going to go the way of fascist state 1940's, but with high altitude spy planes.

Their fear is irrational and unfounded. It's too bad this person "listened" to the wrong voices. America has a lot of problems right now and there are a lot of "voices" offering opinions and solutions. Some of these opinions are useful and helpful.....others are divisive and hurtful
. The entire world is going through tremendous upheavals and dealing with a lot of overwhelming problems right now. I would encourage this person to stay and work out their issues. The problems, as they see them, may seem unsolvable right now but one thing our history has shown us is given time we will overcome these issues and the nation will be strong again.  Be part of the solution....don't run away. If you want change stay and work for it. This nation is worth your best effort. It needs you and given time you will realize that ......you need it!

I think we already live in a fascist state, but your friend is right.  The Right Wing is doing a good job of bringing the American police state to pass.  As to being offended, not at all.  He can (for the time being) do whatever he wants.

Nope. I would just want to know why and where are they going. I've been to Europe and loved it. Other countries cost very little to live in such as parts of South America and Indonesia. So even if you don't have $1 million for retirement, which is the recommended number, you can still live pretty well.

I'd say he's forward looking with discernment: Bon Voyage...he might consider Germany of the 1920s Weimar Republic turned National Socialist as his model as a more realistic model.  Besides, the mechanical hound of Farenheit 451 will follow him wherever!

I think their fears arer unfounded, however I live in the Philippines. Not because of dissatisfaction in the U.S. only because it is closer to my wife's family. We do live better here than we did in the States. That's just one of the perks.
