I don't believe in the "hate" crime nonsense. Everyone is in group think mode. It is the cool thing to do because it shows that people care, when in fact they really do not.  If someone plans on killing someone else, or a woman is raped or an old woman beaten and robbed it is obviously not a sign of love. And simply because the individual that was beaten and robbed was gay or fat or retarded is not an indication of "hate".  Obviously if it is a crime against someone adding the term hate to it doesn't make it worse.

No.  "Hate crime" laws are unconstitutional.  It's "thought crime" - telling people how they should or shouldn't think.  Crimes are actions.

Additionally, ALL crimes are hate crimes.  Is a murder somehow worse if you do it because you hated a person because they're black, as opposed to you just hated them?

NO, of course not.  All murders are equally bad in the eyes of the law.

Hate crime law is ridiculously unconstitutional and I can't wait until the courts come to their senses and get rid of them.  You have the right to be as racist, prejudiced, and bigoted as you choose.  You just can't hurt people.
