    Do economies evolve?

Since we have evolution in animals, why not economies and economic theory?

    What do you think?

I am in sociology right now, and according to the book Introduction to Sociology by Basirico, Cashion and Eshleman economies reflect a cultures social system and cultural values (438). So, seeing that social systems and values change over time, I think economies do as well. So, yes economies evolve.

      They do.

With the problems we have in our economy, what path do you think our economy will take for its evolution?

Who knows. It seems as if the social system is under stress and values under pressure. I try to stay away from talking about the politics of it, at least on line. Somehow, I do not believe that wealth will be redistributed.
