Are failed GOP candidates sincere in their resolve to put the party over their egos?
Are Santorum and Gingrich secretly hoping that Romney will lose so they can have a easier path to the White House in 2016.
Neither has any further presidential ambitions. Neither hopes Romney will lose. That being said, neither, both being pols, is setting ego aside.
Gingrich knows his time is over in politics. Santorum threw Romney under the bus yesterday in an interview, but he will never be the nominee because he is not likable and is too extreme. He obviously wishes he were the nominee and seems to think disparaging Romney makes him seem brilliant, I think it makes him seem bitter and desperate.
I think Santorum might be, not Gingrich though. I think Gingrich is pretty much done.
