Do schizophrenic murderers require medical treatment rather than be subjected to prison?
Should mentally ill persons who commit dreadful and violent attacks on the public be given medical treatment in secure institutions rather than be subjected to the often iniquitous life of state prison?
Oh most certainly!
I work with individuals with developmental disabilities, and after a while you see which actions are them, and which are part of their disabilities. There is help for every one, and prison is meant to be a correctional facility. They don't have the resources for those who suffer from schizophrenia.
