What are some good deeds that you have witnessed, done yourself, or had done to you?

It's so easy to focus on the negative, but I think it is so incredibly important to remember that there is beauty in the world and good people are surrounding you.

Well, I once was on the DC Metro Train, and a man came on, and he was paranoid and angry shouting about politics and religion. Everyone was looking at him funny and deriding him. I took the seat next to him and tried to have a decent conversation with him. It didn't get anywhere, but at least I could allow him to know someone cared, I guess.

I also saw a friend go out to the store and buy a bunch of food items, bag them up and he gathered a group of people together to distribute the packages to homeless people on the streets.

That was a very sweet thing for you to do, and lovely that your friend bought food for homeless. Well done!

A rule that I tend to live by is that you just have to respect the dignity of another person. Whether they are mentally ill, or have a personality that rubs you the wrong way doesn't negate that. It is just easier sometimes to be miserable.

You come across as a very nice person, nevertheless,I did form the opinion that perhaps you should be a little be more careful.

I've have personally had some tough experiences regarding such situations. It helped that 4 of my buddies were also on the train, doesn't hurt that I am 6 ft 1 about 300 lbs. Thanks for the word of caution though.

The other night I was walking home and it was pretty cold out.  As I was coming up to the intersection I noticed a guy in his power scooter waving traffic past him.  It was dark and he was on an incline, so I asked him if he needed any help.  He told me his scooter was almost out of power, so I ended up just pushing him home.  It wasn't too far, and I wasn't doing anything important.  Plus I figure some day I might end up in a similar situation, and I would hate to be stranded alone in the dark and the cold.
