Is the debate over marijuana oversimplified?
Given that there are strains that make you salivate, have dry mouth, sleepy, attentive and creative, and many other contradictory affects, is the social discourse on cannabis too simple? The difference between two strains can be like night and day, so shouldn't we shift the debate to logical policy over conceptual ideology?
I'm not sure why any of that matters. When made legal you still can't smoke and drive. So why would it making you have dry mouth or tired have anything to do with it?
The point is that marijuana has many diverse effects so generalizations have no place in debate over policy. The question has nothing to do with driving, specifically.
Hi Steve Orion , I believe the debate is already logical policy. The conceptual ideology phase, like the first glow of romance, has long ago worn off. Logical policy is the only thing that makes sense. This is a hot topic all over the Internet these days. There is a percentage of the population that will always view marijuana as a dangerous drug. There are a couple of good organisations, erb4Herb and Sensible BC, that are filled with great info on the current climate regarding logical policy.

You know what sort of debate I'd like to see? One with instant fact checkers, a buzzer that goes off when they lie, and a microphone that switches off when their time is up. And I would like to see them address the real issues like.1. The Homeless2. Hunger In America3. All Our Jobs Being Sent...

When we make decisions, we make them based on individual logic. Are somes logic more rational than anothers sense of logic? Who and how is to decide if a majority logic is logical?
