People from the USA, what do you think about the European Union and its goals?
Feel free to answer as a European or someone from elsewhere in the world as well. As a European knowing people from different countries within the Union, I hear lots of opinions but all are biased by the fact that the people I asked so far were all EU citizens. What do you think? Is it a feasible project? Is it just? Should it be continued or discounted? Will the EU be able to handle a continent so diverse in history, culture and politics?
I think the EU as an economic organization is perfectly viable considering the fact that even many nation-states of Europe are culturally divided. Europe's natural tendency seems to be a constant strive toward a unification that never quite actually happens. I would think the EU's existence would prevent exploitation of workers in weaker European countries.
