Do you think people are born with good and evil in them or develop it over time?
That is a great ?.
It seems that the world contains both Good and Evil, and babies suck up the world like a big sponge. It is how they process the stuff in their sponge that may be the answer to your question.
History has shown that Evil is the default characteristic demonstrated by humans. No one has to educate them on being evil. while there is always someone telling them how to be good.
People may be good in their heart, but how their minds have developed in their environments, and their experience can override the best hearts. Temptation to do evil is far greater IMHO, than it is to do good.
I always like the phrase, "NO Good Deed goes Unpunished".
While Bad Deeds go unpunished most of the time, basically because we don't hear or see the bulk of them.
The common sense means a sense that distinguishes between right and wrong. It means the basic ingredients of humans is the ability to do both virtues and vices. Humans have the intellect to make use of, so it is expected of them that they should strive for what is good and refrain from the bad. After all we are human beings, we do commit mistakes and tend to do evil things, but we do find a kind of curse within and a kind of fear of not letting people know about it. This basic instincts suggest that the humans have been bestowed with powers and it is a test for them to do always virtuous act in spite of being in a position to indulge in evil things. I think this life is all about an internal and external struggle of a person with his own self. The winner of a war within is the one whom God likes the most.
