    "NO" to both questions.
    Well, that was easy.

The people have the right to vote as they choose whether based on a faith or political ideology.
It is against people's rights for the state to interfere in their faith or personal matters unless the actions are a serious violation of another's rights - like forced marriages and rape of the bride by the groom by Muslim men, or if someone brought back human sacrifice.

The interesting problem I see is liberals who won't condemn Muslims who are trying to enforce Islamic laws in secular nations or actually have religiously based legal systems that oppress women, religious minorities, sexual minorities. Thus you get liberals saying "shut up, Christians and do what I say!" while ignoring Muslims who also silence Christians and call for the death of Jews abroad and actively support Muslims who say "don't make me drive with your dog or alcohol on board, I want this job but don't make me wear the uniform or fill the requirements".
