Why is Mexico so far behind America economically when we're neighbors?  Canada is successful.

Both nations started around the same time and the US thrived while Mexico remained undeveloped despite adequate resources.

Could it be because Mexico only has two classes?  The very rich and the very poor?  Mexico is also known for the high levels of corruption through their governments all the way down to their police departments.

Perhaps if someone "drained the swamp" in Mexico they could rise above this planned poverty system they seem to enjoy.

Draining the swamp in Mexico would be like draining the oceans, if you could there would be nothing left. I've been there, if you don't speak Spanish you can't even get gas without them lying to you how much you have to pay.

Dont Taze Me Bro - I'm sure your correct, some things really do fall under the heading of "impossible."

The difference is that Mexico has success in illegal drugs, while Canada has success because of the huge oil deposits in Northern Canada. Unfortunately, that big illegal drug industry is based on people in the US using, and demanding that product.

Mexico has high levels of corruption, which are a de facto tax on the poor. This leads to very socialist policies where the state favors the businesses of the elite and prevent the rise of smaller businesses and a middle class.
