Aren't "And Justice for All" and the "Presumption of Innocence" just myths today?
The US Criminal justice system is still an adversary system. And it requires expensive and effective legal counsel. Public Defenders deal in plea bargains and heavy case loads. The average person even with paid counsel is at a disadvantage compared to a rich person in the same situation.
As for the Presumption of Innocence Until prove guilty, just look at today how the media is judge and jury resulting in street verdicts instead of judicial verdicts. Once an accusation is made the person accused loses that presumption and it can never be returned. Please, Guilty, Not Guilty, Nolo Contendre
