    A story about a high school which had to apologize for a prom slogan 'Party Like it's 1776'. Apparently it was insulting to a black student group.

      Yes it has.  And among the worst are those that are looking for excuses to be outraged or offended.

        I'm flabbergasted. The article said it was pointed out that slavery wasn't abolished in the state until 1849. Are women bitching because the vote wasn't given to them until later?  I mean, seriously. We can all whine. We all have mouths. I wonder why some tend to flap their lips without first thinking about the absurdity of the thought.

        And that anyone would think an apology was necessary is even more mind boggling,

          An apology probably WAS necessary...if he wanted to keep his job.  It's not about apologizing to victims that were harmed or hurt in any way - it's about being PC to keep idiots quiet.

      Yes, it was petty and small, that even though it was FOX that reported it. We need to avoid the insignificant and save it for incidences that justify taking offense.

        I agree. But, I'd hope to hear some outrage from those the 'offended' group think they represent and I'd love to see such ignorance open up a public dialogue. I don't suppose that's possible since we can't talk about anything already, without having to worry that free speech might offend someone's delicate sensibilities.
