It scares the crap out of me. Virtual arsenals can be created without anyone knowing. The drug cartels must be absolutely giddy.

Strange scary , yet given all other incidents  of today's reality, less gun crimes ,  increased  TSA abilities  to detect ,   x-ray ,  other tools of destruction .   Liberal punishment , less law enforcement , less incarceration and the incredible amount of recidivist gun crimes ,.......We've got too many other issues to deal with ?

Does anyone think this type of capability is stoppable? I think this issue is a done-deal.

I don't think the issue of right or wrong even matters. The capability, (the coding and the printers),  exists, it has been published, and even if we make laws to keep that capability from being easily accessible by the average seeker - the motivated seeker will find it. Once something hits the cyberworld, there is no going back.

As I understand it, the coding has already been published, and even if it hadn't, what one legit coder did, a coder without scruples can also do.

So what are the choices? Outlaw the code - too late. Outlaw 3-D printers - fat chance. Outlaw the type of plastic printer paste needed for the guns - again fat chance, that same printer material is also used for prosthetic.

Sorry folks, this genie is out of the bottle. The real question is now what do we do about it?

I don't see that we can do anything other than fervently hope for the best.

Well if nothing more it brings the incompetence of writing new laws hoping to actually change human behavior to a standstill .         I still foresee at long ,long "breaking in period " for  actually producing "assault weapon " style semi-automatic weapons that will work, single shot is one thing but ...............

What to do about it?  Perhaps address the violent nature of our culture, address just why such tools are viewed as even desirable.

I'm still waiting for the RPG rocket launcher. They are already for sale, but you can get one made to order while you wait at Walmart this Christmas.

    Nuclear-tipped are a $100 extra.
