Whether the author on HubPages can use images and content elsewhere?
You can use your material elsewhere but it may detract from your Hubpages' traffic.
You can't publish elsewhere and then publish on HP though, that will be flagged as duplicate content.
Thanks for the information. In the copyrights section at the end of the page, they mention that the author has the right to content on Hubpages. I guess we can use images clicked by us and used in HP and content written by us on HP can be used on our other projects also (at least a part of it). Please clarify.
You always own the copyright to your original work, which means you can remove it, edit it, etc. But while you use the platform, you give HubPages the rights to use it as they want to.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'images clicked by us'. If you mean your own photos then yes, you can use them wherever you want to. If you mean images taken from the internet, that's a whole other thing.
You can republish your writing elsewhere AFTER it's been published here, not before. It's always better to rewrite it though.
Thanks. I meant photos clicked by me. Even my idea is to republish my articles elsewhere after rewriting them. Thank you so much!
I think we can use the images elsewhere without any infringement of law. Only the content can not be used anywhere else unless you delete it from the HubPages.
Sorry, but you are mistaken. You can republish any of your own work after publication on HP. However, it's not recommended.
You can't publish it here if it has been published elsewhere *first* unless it has been removed from that platform and de-indexed.
Sorry. I believe that one can't publish the same content on other sites. It should be edited and a bit changed for that purpose so that it is not a ditto copy.
Yes you can publish it elsewhere. Otherwise HubPages would unpublish our articles every time they got stolen. As I said, it's not a good idea, but it's allowable. I have done it myself when some of my hubs were included in a magazine.
It won't work the other way around because if you try to publish an article that's already on the web, it will trip the duplicate filter.
Thanks for letting me know. I would like to try one of my unfeatured (for traffic) one publishing on my other site.
Thanks, Venkatachari. It's now clear about using images in hubs.
Can someone clarify a question I have in the same regard. I am considering submitting some of my work to another forum (poetry and prose magazine). They state that they don't accept "previously published work". Would work published at hubpages fall in that category? If I wished to use some of my hubpages work, would I need to delete it from here before submitting to another forum? This includes published, featured articles etc.
Previously published work does include online platforms, in today's world. Especially if it's a major platform like HubPages.
Besides, it's never a good idea, SEO wise, to have duplicates. You end up harming one or the other.
Yes, you would have to delete your article from HubPages before submitting it to a publication that only allows work that is not published anywhere else.
Even if you delete it, the fact that it has been online makes it 'previously published'.

Are we allowed to republish our articles elsewhere and keep the original hubs here in the mean time?

Hi,I'm a brand new hubber. For my first hub, I picked an article, I wrote on my blog. I don't have any affiliate links or link to my blog. I'm not trying to promote my blog, I just thought that article might be an intresting read. I published about an hour ago, now it says...

I know hubpages prohibits writers from having duplicate content. My problem is understanding what that exactly means. I heard from many that it means writers can't publish content here that already exists elsewhere, but can publish here first and then publish it elsewhere. My concern is if I were...

Hi Fellow Writers!I hope you all are doing well. Just wanted to share something about my previously published articles. Recently, I had submitted two of my articles, for consideration for niche sites (published in 2014).They were both accepted on Letterpile, but I noticed that all the comments were...
