President Trump is expected to announce the details of a new agreement on trade between Mexico and the United States.  Negotiators have been hammering out the final details of a bilateral deal to revise the North American Free Trade Agreement, according to people familiar with the state of negotiations.  Canada is not being included in these negotiations. The revised deal includes new rules on the portion of cars that would have to be made in North America to qualify for duty-free treatment under NAFTA.  Under the revised terms of the agreement, 75 percent of a car would have to be manufactured in North America, up from 62.5 percent under current rules, according to a person familiar with the talks. The new rules would also impose a sort of minimum wage for car makers, requiring that workers earn a minimum of $16 per hour to qualify for zero tariffs.

Interesting. What seems clear to anyone thinking much about it, is that these trade deals need to be renegotiated every so often.

For the Press Conference, the President made a live call with the new Mexican President, which was on speaker for all to hear.  No way to spin, slant, or otherwise alter the narrative on this one.

So far that sounds reasonable, especially the minimum wage for workers, just as long as unions don't take it over again and run wages up unreasonably. One reason that auto manufacturers went out of the country was that washer crammers with little educations were making in the area of $25 an hour while college professors were trying to support their families on $16,000 -- $18,000 a year. I'm not going to judge this program before I get to read the full details.

So tell me, what deal has actually been signed? What is the deal?

From what I can tell, there's no formal trade deal, just an agreement to try to work out some stuff in the NAFTA agreement. And that, requires Canada to agree to it. So, this sounds to me a lot like the North Korean deal on disarmament. It's sort of a handshake thing where they're agreeing to talk about something, but there's nothing in writing.

Crankalicious makes a good point. There is no deal, just an announcement by Trump.

Ralph, in response to your post, I went looking for details. Congress has to approve it, and Republicans are already saying Canada has to be part of the deal, but they were kept out of the negotiations.

I'd like to see a good deal for the U.S. like anyone, but I hope this doesn't turn out to be another North Korea nuke deal that's nothing but smoke.

Yeah, and that’s why the stock market doesn’t believe it, I mean if they did the market probably would have gone up more than 250 points on the news. All indexes setting new all time records is a sure sign nobody trusts Trump, except what? people investing billions of dollars?

There you have it. All these Hubpages leftists are against reality itself. Their leftist religion is being violated by reality, and they are very very angry about it all.

Well, Wes, that’s what happens when their hearts are full of hatred, they become blind to reality and simply assimilate anything that appears to substantiate what is in their hearts without questioning it, without looking for evidence to the contrary, ignoring anything that challenges their preconceived notions of hatred that have embraced with their souls. This is what the godless liberal Democrat party today, the MSM, has become and there is no going back. That’s what hatred does to the human heart.

Here is another example, of many, to show just how full of hate these liberals are and how insincere that are.
Cuomo can try to walk back “conservatives aren’t welcome in this state” but it doesn’t change the hatred in his heart cause eventually he declares "We're not going to make America great again. It was never that great," and now he tries to walk that back simply by saying, “The expression I used the other day was inartful, so I want to be very clear,” Cuomo told reporters. “Of course America is great and of course America has always been great. No one questions that.”

Of course? Like he didn’t say what he said? Inartful? Really, does he think anyone
Is that stupid that they will accept that he was inartful in saying just the total opposite of what he now says after “of course”?  Give me a break. “Of course” as in if you think anything otherwise was said you are stupid? Condescension isn’t an apology.

Not going to see him running for president any time soon, or ever!

Godless is right. I used to be an atheist, and I was more miserable then than I am now. Godless is a horrible thing. There's no justification for any sort of right or wrong when there is no God to back up morality with.

If everything is just a random and seemingly never ending set of chemical reactions, then who is anyone to say anything is wrong, ever?

Hopefully Cuomo will be done for. Hopefully the middle Americans in the flyover states are completely and finally fed up with the bs of the leftist mass media, and how everything is slanted against traditional people, and traditional values, and hopefully there will be a red tide in November.

Hard to put a god, any god, as the source of morality when no god speaks to the people, or ever has.  All we've ever had was a person claiming that their god spoke to them and told them that every one must behave this way or that.  As all the "thems" differ in what their god wants people to do it's hard to put a god in control of morality.

Just like it did with the phantom nuclear deal with North Korea.

Demobrats are having an extremely difficult time with reality .   NAFTA  ,  like every item of identity politics for liberals  seems to be a very difficult set of points to follow .    So to be safe they will "color "the outcome of trade negotiations actually before the details of the actual trade negotiations are EVEN published .

NY , NYC and Cuomo politics , I watched recently a documentary about revolutionary days where  of course" Torry's " , who were pre- America Brittish loyals who were a thorn in the side of Patriots .
The state of New York paid New Hampshire $500 per man  to take all of the Torry's that were arrested in New York .
To me that shows NY's and now Cuomo's  distaste for party's other than socialism flavored Democrats even in today's world.
Cuomo , "Conservatives aren't welcome in NY" ?

Sounds like  , "Give me socialism or give me death "

I am actually ideologically relieved that Demobrats have FINALLY admitted their  love affair with intended agenda to socialism for America .      For years they have been accused of politically flirting with some twisted form of western socialism , touting places like Venezuela . All the while denying it .

Finally their anger forced their admittance to loving the idea  . Recently in the news some media twit showed a poll that embarrases Demobrats to no end . less than twenty percent of liberals want to abolish ICE .
Ping!   Leftist Media boo boo ...............again.

It never ends with the left ,  they are SO collectively orgasming on  hypocrisy  that they can't even put together a reasonable mid term  platform  say nothing about 2020 .  Result ;  I think the American left reached their political zenith in the sixties and since then have adopted their new mindset ,  Ideological Scatterbrain .
