U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly said he’ll rule Thursday, November 15th on the legality of the Trump administration’s decision to revoke Acosta’s press pass. After hearing more than 1 1/2 hours of arguments from CNN and Trump Administration lawyers, Kelly said he’ll issue the ruling from the bench at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Which way do you see this ruling going?  Why?

I honestly don't know, but our 1st Amendment rights are at stake. "Government in the Sunshine" it's called. Even the president, no, especially the president, has no right to ban ANY reporter who asks a question he doesn't like. Presidents in the past have sidestepped questions they didn't want to answer, or couldn't answer, by saying "no comment", or "I'll have to think on this," or "I can't answer that in the interest of national security," but they have never banned a reporter for asking a question. Our government officials work for US -- WE the People, not vice versa. They don't throw temper tantrums and ban somebody just because they didn't like him. If this man child doesn't agree with that, we should fire him.

Why does everyone revert to his being banned because of the question he asked?  He was not banned until his behavior deteriorated to the point that notice had to be taken.

I saw the incident, or at least one of them. He asked a question that Trump should have answered, but our child president was rude to him simply because of the content of the question. His attitude was "I don't like your question, so I can treat you like s**t." Did you even see it or are you forming your opinion strictly on being a Trump supporter?

"Thank you Mr. President. I want to challenge you on one of the statements that you made on the tail-end of the campaign , on midterms,

Pres. Trump interjects, "Well here we go..."

Well if you don't mind Mr. President, that this caravan was an invasion. As you know Mr. President, this caravan was not an invasion,

Pres. Trump interjects "I consider it to be an invasion."

... it's a group of Central American  migrants moving up towards the border with the U.S...."

Then, the first question from Acosta: "Why did you characterize it as such...

Pres. Trump answers; "Because I consider it an invasion, you and I have a difference of opinion on it."

            So then, Acosta continues, (with an argument or a question?);

"Do you think that you demonized immigrants...

Pres. Trump answers, "Not at all, no not at all. I want them to come into this country legally, you know they have to come in Jim, through a process. I want it to be a process. You know why I want them to come in, we need the people...

*up until this point the exchange had been civil

Acosta interrupts the president with "your campaign has..your campaign.."

Pres. Trump says, "Wait wait, you know why we need the people....

From this point it went South. Pres. Acosta continued to argue that the president was wrong, and Mr. Trump repeatedly said that's enough, that's enough. Then pointed to the other reporters and said, "Next question>'

But Acosta continued to argue. "I have one other question..."

Pres. Trump continued to say that's enough, that's enough...

Yet Acosta continued trying to ask another question.

The president was polite, and answered Acosta's question, right up until Acosta refused to accept his answer, argue with the president, and refused to give-up the mic.

Do you really think this all started just because Acosta was asking a question the president didn't like Miz Bejabbers?

I don't think it was a smart move to just yank Acosta's pass without an explanation - beforehand, but Mr. Acosta did much more than "just ask a question."

You said you saw it, but here is the video that transcript came from, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdFe-LmFRV8  Maybe it is different from the one you saw.

First amendment? Jim Acosta has been denied the ability to grandstand and shove people away who attempt to ensure others have a chance to ask questions in one specific spot during specific times, encompassing no more than 1000 square feet. The rest of the free world is open to him. Hardly a first amendment violation.

Most reporters usually ask followup questions. It is part of their job.

Agreed. But, that wasn't what Acosta was doing.

As I understand the system, a "followup question" is asking for expansion or clarification on the answer.  Acosta asked not one, not two, but three unrelated questions: he simply wanted to fight about anything under the sun until he was shut down.

I think a President does have a right to reject a reporter who violates protocol and simple good manners.

Trump probably won't do it with Acosta because they both know they have a good thing going together. Trump gets to complain about CNN and Acosta gets ratings.

        It's a bromance.

But Trump will cross the line with the 1st Amendment if he blocks all CNN reporters from the press conferences.

Either outcome , I'd be fine with it going to the SCOTUS and why shouldn't it ?  The importance of the integrity of the first amendment and the hypocrisy of the news media protocol inside the most important capital building in the world , how many times have we shook our collective heads at news media hypocrisy and mistreatment of single most important word in the english language , .....truth ?

Ed, apparently you are not comfortable with the idea that the White House belongs to the people, not the president. Your opinion indicates that you would be comfortable with a dictator. "The integrity of the first amendment," as you put it, depends on government in the sunshine, meaning openness and honesty from our leaders, not just pick and choose whichever reporter suits me. Even Fox News is shaking their heads at the banning of Jim Acosta. Even they have the sense to see it as a chilling effect on asking the president questions that need to be asked and not just pandering to his wishes. Who knows, they could be next if he gets mad at one of them. He gets mad at his so-called friends quite often, you know.

I felt Acosta should have been booted two years ago , his grandstanding is shameful , You can't tell me CNN couldn't have sent better representation for even their own reputation . Rudeness , Microphone hogging and inflammatory questions don't belong in the white house press core .  Had he been ideologically  against Obama liberals would all have melted down calling his destructive attitude certainly racist . Because "...the white house belongs to the people ..." doesn't give the people the right to Jerry Springer the white house press core for a perverted sense of entertainment  .

".......you'd be comfortable with a dictator .........."No , but I'm not comfortable with absolute media idiousy either .  You've got to do better than that . Your last lines are rumors at best , simple naive speculation .

My last lines "are rumors at best , simple naive speculation . " then why did one of his own WH staffers say that Trump was "pissed at damn near everyone."?

You need to be able to back up your accusations. I can back up mine. I said that Fox News backed CNN's lawsuit on the banning of Jim Acosta, and I can back that up. Where are your facts? All I see are your opinions with no basis.

Judge orders Trump administration to restore CNN reporter Jim Acosta's White House press pass

What happened to all the winning? His distraction turned into a losing battle with him on the wrong side of the first amendment. Even if this is eventually overturned, Acosta will be back int the White House and this anti-freedom thing doesn't play well with most voters.
