Dow, S&P 500 having worst month since 1931

“We are facing some speedbumps,” Michael Block, managing director and market strategist at Third Seven Advisors, tells FOX Business. “The economy is starting to slow, GDP is not the 3 to 4 percent we were promised,” he notes. On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve lowered their GDP forecast for 2019 to 2.3 percent while indicating it will also slow the pace of planned rate hikes next year.

“Recent client meetings indicate that many investors believe the US economy will enter a recession in 2020,” said Goldman Sachs in its US Weekly Kickstart note.

Top CEOs predict a recession will strike by the end of 2019

Nearly half of U.S. CFOs are expecting to see a recession by 2019.

Chatter of an impending recession next year has been looming for months — but a new survey suggests that it may be here sooner than that previously thought.

According to a recent New York Times survey Opens a New Window. , almost half of all 134 CEOs polled believe that the U.S. will be in a recession by the end of 2019.  With 67 percent of the leaders citing U.S. political instability and trade negotiations as the major triggers, while 17 percent point to the national debt as a big cause for concern.

Why the US economy will likely fall into a recession next year

The U.S. economy will likely fall into a recession next year, according to Liz Ann Sonders, the chief investment strategist at Charles Schwab.

“Well there's 100 percent chance we're going to get another recession,” she said during an interview on "WSJ at Large with Gerry Baker." “In the next year, I do think trade holds the key.”

Damn, I know the last recession sucked. I worked in the home loan industry then.

Things aren't looking real great according to this conservative "heartland" economist:

My main employment counts on a decent economy as do so many careers. A third of the individuals were already laid off doing my job and an entire department within the company was sent to Philippines. All under the watch of...well, you know.

My 401k is down over 10% in the last 12 months. That's not good, especially with all the big top of we will never stop winning.
