Conservatives, Moderates, Centrists, & Independents, what would YOU say to the Liberals, Progressives, & Leftists?

It should come down to conservatives, authoritarians, reactionaries and rightwingers verses all the rest of us....

Credence2, why do you hate Conservatives so much?  Why?  I am a Liberal & feel that Conservatives have a right to their premise.  Doesn't bother me in the least.   I fear Leftists, Radicals, & Socialists more than I fear Conservatives.  However, authoritarians, reactionaries, & the right are different entities altogether.  Authoritarians aren't limited to conservatives-there are liberal authoritarians-i.e. the EXTREME liberal.

Hate is a strong word, lets use the word: distrust.

And, yes, the conservatives have a right to their beliefs and premises, but I don't have to agree with them.

I fear conservatives, reactionaries and authoritarians over progressives and liberals. The only radical I see is on the right and the concept and fear of Socialism in America is overblown by a rightwing afraid that their laissez-faire capitalism will be subject to more restraint.

I don't speak in a universal way, but how I see things from my perspective and my instincts are still pretty good.

I agree with your assessment of authoritarians. I see the far left of today as authoritarian, to an extreme. They are very scary.

Yes, there is no one more authoritarian than the far left.  If you disagree w/them, you are WWWWWRONG.  See it here in the forums...……..Disagree w/a conservative, no problem at all.  Even extreme conservatives, again....NO PROBLEM.  But wait, don't ever disagree w/an EXTREME LIBERAL or a LEFTIST, all hell breaks...….LOOSE......

The far left is indeed authoritarian.  Obamacare is from the far left, and was a huge power grab, forcing Americans to drop their insurance and buy insurance that's more expensive (to help pay for others' insurance) and has FAR higher deductibles.  Those who didn't want to play ball were fined.

          That is absurd, Prof.

Obamacare was a concept that was developed by Governor Romney when he governor of Mass. A republican governor in a blue state, does not sound like firebomb leftist to me.

The reality is that you pay now or pay later, how much does the tax payer have to pay for uninsured persons who require medical care, it is not that we can leave them on the street to die...

And while there may have been issues with Obamacare, the idea the Obamacare attempted to address has been around for a while and is hardly radical as many more civilized European societies have had single payer and universal health care and it was no big deal.

The reality is that Obamacare did more to pad the pockets of insurance companies while forcing the people to purchase worthless policies for the poor; policies that they could not afford to use.

No, that was probably not the intent, but it was the result.  The intent was to force the people to purchase health care, not insurance, for the poor.  Socialism, in the modern version, just as European countries have embraced the concept (and are failing as a result).  Unfortunate that we have put our desire to feel good at "helping others" as a priority over reality, isn't it?

Most of the Obama"care" health insurance are full of crap.  Those health insurance plans are bogus to say the least.   Hopefully, Trump will overturn the stupid disaster known as Obama"care".  Healthcare was fine before Obama took over.  Return healthcare to the INDIVIDUAL, the government has NO BUSINESS being in healthcare.   Uninsured people didn't suffer before as extreme Liberals & Leftists purport.  There were always safety nets placed.   Hospitals had low cost payments & reputable insurance companies such as Empire had VERY LOW COST insurance. Oh no, Obumbler took over & decided to establish a disastrous health care.

Credence, are you telling me that 1) Americans we're forced into Obamacare? And 2) That as a result many Americans had to give up policies they had for policies that were more expensive with higher deductibles and 3) that Ameeica s that wouldn't do this weren't penalized?

Agree, healthcare was fine before the disaster known as Obama"care" was instituted.   Most of the healthcare under Obama"care" were useless.   I remember assisting a friend who was uninsured when she was sick, the hospital she went to had a very cheap payment plan of $15.00 each time she saw a doctor.   There were also very excellent, healthcare insurance plans under Empire which were very cheap.  However when the Obumbler took over, all those great cheap plans were gone & replaced by cockeyed health plans whose premiums INCREASE each month.  That is one of the reasons that I, as a Democrat, voted for Trump so that he will overturn this stupid disaster Obama"care".  Well, he did overturn the stupid individual mandate of the dictator Obumbler.

There are a fair number of Americans that want something for nothing, and that don't care how they come about it.  There WERE alot of problems with healthcare before Obama, but his "solution" wasn't a solution.

I understand the concern of those who assert that healthcare shouldn't be a for profit business, but no one has a solution for this that doesn't involve coercion, theft, heavy taxation and massive growth of government.  Virtually every solution I've seen proposed involves each of those things.  I'm puzzled when supporters of socialist solutions fail to take the above into account.....they're all essentially saying that the ends justify the means.
