Here is a new topic of discussion.
The following are what progressives focuses their attention on.
1. Race relations
2. Illegal immigrants
3. Climate change
4. Abortion rights
5. Anti-religion
6. Evil big business
7. Socialism
8. Big government
9. Gender identity
10. Trump...Trump...Trump
Are any of these topics winners in the next election cycle?
Whatever, without Trumps slight of hand with the Electoral College, those topics could have easily been winners in 2016.
We will get rid of Trump and decimate the Rightwinger and their loathsome values at the polls next year
Time will tell.
I believe America is a right center country still, despite the influence of a left biased media.
My values are only loathsome to you...we are the “deplorable” according to your favorite - Hillary.
The difference is my values are color blind. We support human dignity and self determination as given to us by God, not coercive and corrupt government- The State.
I love it when Trump defenders try to tell me what I think.
Not telling...just observing what is going on in our country.
We are a divided nation and there is a sharp line between Progressives and Conservatives.
The issues are clearly defined.
The next election offers a clear choice.
It is up to the moderates to decide.
Just to be clear, Here are my Conservative values...
1. Rule of law
2. The Constitution as intended
3. Free enterprise
4. Pro Life, including the unborn
5. Dignity of work
6. Family
7. Church
8. Clean Environment
9. Abundant and cheap energy
10. Free and equitable trade
1. Trump definitely doesn't follow the rule of law as his defiance of lawful subpoenas show.
2. How do you know what the writer's of the Constitution intended?
3. Free enterprise doesn't know a party.
4. The majority support abortion rights.
5. Again, dignity doesn't know a party.
6. Families-- most are in favor of family on all sides of the spectrum.
7. Religion shouldn't be mandatory for anyone.
8.I don't know anyone who is against a clean environment, but Trump's actions show he really doesn't care.
9. Again, we all want cheap energy, but not by using polluting means to achieve it.
10. Free trade is a good thing, but once again, Trump doesn't have a clue.
So you see, we aren't too far apart on what both sides want to achieve.
Here is a lesson for you...pay attention and I will only say it once.
1. Trump was investigated by Mueller and came out clean, Move-on.
2. The founders wrote and debated extensively the Constitution. Their intent is there for all to discover. These documents are on the net assuming you know how to use it. Take a class on civics.
3. Free enterprise is the foundation of our capitalistic system. It is the reason for our abundance and prosperity.
4. Majority support limited abortion rights, not the abortion on demand or late term abortions.
5. I was not referring to any party when I say the dignity of work. It is the bedrock of a free society. The current push for free healthcare and free college is contrary to that ideal. Every citizen should work for their living and not expect a handout.
6. Families I refer to are the traditional family of two parents, sharing in the responsibility of raising kids. The social fabric of our nation has gone the other way with many single mothers, divorced and remarriage and new family arrangements of extended family of step children...and of course people living together having kids without the benefit of marriage...
7. When did I say religion should be mandatory? You have a strange reading skills, reading something into something that don’t exist. Religion and the free practice of is part of our first Amendment. Don’t show your ignorance.
8. Environmental extremists and you just make that claim against Trump...and GOP for not supporting the thory of AGW...climate change is not related any way to a clean environment. We had the EPA ling before global warming was an issue.
9. Not all want cheap energy. The Democrats want to eliminate all fossil fuel by 2030 as stated in their goal of the Green New Deal.
10. The only clueless people is someone who knows little but act like he knows a lot. You my friend cannot light a candle to Trump.
We have very little in common.
1. He didn't "come out clean," Jack. Multiple instances of Trump committing obstruction of justice were cited.
2. What YOU interpret as the meaning of the forefathers intentions isn't worth a big dog F**k, Jack. No more than mine in fact.
3.No argument as this is common knowledge.
$.Is that a statement or an opinin, Jack?
5. No argument from me.
6.I know many liberals who believe in strong family values, Jack. The right doesn't have a monopoly on this.
7. I'll make a deal with you Jack, if you don't show your ignorance I'll do the same.
8. You are fooling yourself as usual, Jack. Trump doesn't know anything about climate change, and apparently you don't either.
9. So what, do you want to leave the city because of massive flooding because you ignored the warnings by prominent scientist much more informed than yourself?
10. I wouldn't P**s on little Donnie if he was afire.
I wouldn't argue any of this, save one.
From what I've read the country is fairly evenly divided on abortion.
It's a difficult subject, no matter which side you fall on but both sides are about the same size from everything I've seen.
Add freedom and self determination to the list of "right wing" values. I want to earn my own way, not have things handed out by the government - who, by the way, paid for the hand outs with MY tax dollars. I'd rather decide for myself.
I think socialism will be a hot button topic. Only because of the high taxes that will be involved with implementing some of the far left's agenda.
I can see no useful purpose for this thread other than to promote divisions that don't really exist.
Thank you Pretty Panther. I'm a proud Progressive, an active Believer, Pro-Lifer (that's Pro Whole Life, which means I give a damn what happens to that child after she is born). Pretty P: If this hubber had anything constructive to say he would have written an article not just a list.

Republicans always want to take a mile when they are given an inch. Conservatives cheer with the overturn of Roe vs Wade, saying it was a victory for States Rights. So the Red States double down creating a Handsmaiden's Tale environment for its residents. But that has not been enough. Trump remains...

I hope that this does not turn into another Trump thread, but, since his name is mentioned I hold no illusions that it will not.The quote is relative to an article about changing eras between traditional conservatism and political correctness and progressivism.Progressive columnist William Galston...

... and they preach, strive for and expect the perfect ideal, perfect behavior, perfect philosophy and perfect political theories for a perfect world. Yay for them! But, how come Hillary et al. don't really seem so .....

A simple question for Progressives. I realize you are against Trump and will do anything and everything to protest...and attack his administration and his policies. Here is the simple question - Is there anything that Trump does you will praise him for (even if it is a progressive idea?)For one...

With his numbers crumbling with women, the Republican Establishment realizes that there's no way they can give him the nomination of their party. He finally offended one group too many with his statements against Megyn Kelly, a woman's right to choose, and Cruz's wife.
