Joe Biden Wins S. Carolina - Big time

   It appears Biden has won S, Carolina by a huge margin, and will get the majority of delegates. Maybe even enough to surpass Sanders.
   
   It seems Steyer has a decision to make—stay in as a spoiler or get out and endorse one of the moderates. Unfortunately, (in my view), the same is true for Klobuchar. Buttigieg seems to be on the edge, enough to stay the course, but not realistically so.
   
   I know Buttigieg's decision could be put off until after Super Tuesday, (I am hopeful for him), but what do you think about Steyer and Klobuchar?
   
   What do you think Biden's big win could mean for his campaign? All the pundits are talking about Biden being out of money and that there isn't enough time before Super Tuesday for him to capitalize on his S. Carolina win and fundraise what he needs to compete in the Super Tuesday states—advertising-wise. (of course, Bloomberg's bottomless advertising budget was the point of those perspectives)
   
   Do you think they are right, will Biden suffer because he can't match the advertising budgets of his competitors?

      I just heard Steyer's speech and I think he's out, GA. He said basically that he would stay in as long as he saw a path to the presidency, but now, he doesn't see that path forward.
      
      If I were a centrist/moderate, I would want the other candidates to drop out and back Biden to challenge Sanders (and send some funding/donors his way). Since I'm not, I'm happy for as many as them to stay in the race as possible and divide the vote.

         It s early, after the S. Carolina results, and I have heard that Steyers has bowed out, but I didn't hear him say so.
         
         However, I do think tonight's results have been a big boost for Biden, regardless of the 'yeah buts.'

            And yes, I won't argue that the SC results are good for Biden (I'll halt further commentary and allow you a moment of celebration if you are celebrating a Biden win).

                  Don't get too overconfident yet. It's a big country and Biden is still out of touch. I don't think that the winds are blowing in his favor over the long term.

                     I am far from overconfident. I am not even confident. But, because I am obviously anti-Bernie does not mean I am pro-Biden in any respect other than his effect on Sanders.

                        Let us in on a secret, who would YOU find acceptable in the Democratic ranks right now? Buttigieg and Klobenar are still in the running, as moderates would you find them less offensive? How about Bloomberg?

                           Well, Credence. You know the centrists and moderates seem a lot more comfortable with protecting the 1% than they do helping the less fortunate. So really, a Red Trump win or a Blue Trump (Bloomberg) win is just as good in that respect

                           I know I would vote for Buttigieg or Klobuchar. I would not vote for Sanders, Warren*, or Bloomberg.
                           
                           Warren is only in that list because I don't think she has the presidential character I want to vote for. I think she is a mechanic, and possibly a very good and knowledgeable one, but I want a leader, I don't see that in her. She might make a good VP for Biden.
                           
                           I could find Biden acceptable, but not a preference.
                           
                           So there is the bullseye. How's your aim? ;-)

                     You nailed me Eastward. I am very much a Moderate/Centrist. If there were such a thing as a Moderate Progressive I might even fit that mold. But in these times there is no room for such an animal in our politics.
                     
                     Now that Buttigieg has suspended his campaign, and I expect the same from Klobuchar—barring a Super Tuesday miracle, I will be left without a preferred candidate and will have to settle for an acceptable one. ;-)

                        Well, I had to laugh during a discussion with a European friend of mine (while evaluating Sanders' proposed tax brackets) when he said that Sanders is too far right for him. He was somewhat joking, but also taking a jab at how far right the entire U.S. political spectrum has moved. In international terms, we start at the center and move right with no candidates on a true left.
                        
                        I would agree with you that Klobuchar is unlikely to be the benefactor of a Super Tuesday miracle and will likely drop out after that. I'm hoping you find an acceptable candidate and from reading the other comments in this thread, at least it looks like it won't be Bloomberg (much to your credit).

   With Buttigieg out, Klobuchar should follow him to clear the lane for Biden.  Bloomberg took a shot, but not sure he's going to catch Biden either.
