FBI knew of risk of Russian disinformation in Steele dossier

As I've said before, the lies told about President Donald Trump far exceed any the left believes he has said.

It appears it was the Hillary Campaign and the FBI who were working with the Russians to provide disinformation for the 2016 campaign. At least the Russians got paid a good amount of money from the DNC via Steele for the disinformation. The FBI knew and did nothing to stop it.

It's obvious the Democrat party has no shame, sense of right, a moral compass, grasp of truth and reality, just to name a few.

“Footnotes in watchdog report indicate FBI knew of risk of Russian disinformation in Steele dossier

“The dossier was used, in part, by FBI investigators to secure four surveillance warrants for Page.
Footnote 350 in the IG report addresses the FBI's knowledge of Russian contacts with Steele and the potential for disinformation.  Steele had "frequent contacts with representatives for multiple Russian oligarchs, we identified reporting the Crossfire Hurricane team received from (redacted) indicating the potential for Russian disinformation influencing Steele's election reporting."

Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd, in a letter to Grassley and Johnson, wrote that the "fourth and final footnote presents unique and significant concerns. Specifically, the redacted information refers to information received by a member of the Crossfire Hurricane team regarding possible previous attempts by a foreign government to penetrate and research a company or individuals associated with Christopher Steele."
In the December FISA report, Horowitz found "the FBI did not have information corroborating the specific allegations against Carter Page in Steele's reporting when it relied upon his reports in the first FISA application or subsequent renewal applications."

I thought Trump supporters wanted to move on from all the impeachment garbage so they could get back to MAGA. It seems more like he thrives on this type of thing, just as he thrives on making the media, immigrants, etc., enemies. The emperor has no clothes. This type of thing is just more evidence of that. Keep up the fervor and the outrage, it's great for Trump. The media is really the biggest Trump ally and you are proving that.

Maybe you didn't see the news, but the impeachment had nothing to do with the Steele dossier and the FISA court.  THAT was another HUGE lie told by the Democrats concerning a conversation with the Ukrainian president.  I think if the Democrats are going to be so dedicated to telling lies about someone, they should keep their lies straight.  But then, it is not beyond Democrats to tell lies about their lying. I believe it may be part of the party platform.

Same and more in-depth information about it on Fox...but I used this because they automatically dismiss it if Fox is used as a source. Some people don't seem to understand it is the same information just a different source.

I'm not certain it isn't something that is going to be relegated to the past. Anyone who, at this point, still defends the FBI actions during that episode of spying could care less about law. If actions are illegal but they are an attempt to play politics...they are ok with it. They are partisan to the core.

LTL, this is BIG.  You can't have the FBI getting involved and trying to manipulate a presidential election.  Again, they are going to justify and rationalize it.  You are right, they are partisan to the core.  Like Hillary, someone needs to go to jail over this.

        Well Mike you can’t?
The IRS was instrumental in manipulating Obama’s second election and nothing was done about that. If the IRS can get away with it why not the FBI, they need to keep up with the IRS, and hey, what about the CIA? After all the CIA has a long history of meddling in other countries’ elections, I wouldn’t put it past them to have a hand in FBI manipulation of our own.

Yes, the IRS scandal is a fact.  The IRS issued a formal apology, admitted wrongdoing and paid money to the affected conservative groups.  This was never much of a story in the news, although it was a HUGE story.

"And in a second case, NorCal Tea Party Patriots and 427 other groups suing the IRS also reached a "substantial financial settlement" with the government.

"Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the two settlements Thursday. The Justice Department quoted him as saying of the IRS activity: "There is no excuse for this conduct. Hundreds of organizations were affected by these actions, and they deserve an apology from the IRS. We hope that today's settlement makes clear that this abuse of power will not be tolerated."

The consent order says the IRS admits it wrongly used "heightened scrutiny and inordinate delays" and demanded unnecessary information as it reviewed applications for tax-exempt status. The order says, "For such treatment, the IRS expresses its sincere apology"
