Today President Joe Biden held his very first news conference two months after taking office. The highly-profiled press conference came as his administration grapples with the pandemic, a struggling economy, and a  crisis at the southern border, due to a surge of immigrants that includes thus far some 16 thousand unaccompanied children,  and to add to the mix,  North Korea fired 2 short-range missiles over the past weekend.

Biden appeared composed much of the time, did trial off a couple of times off subject, and lose a few words here and there. He answered the majority of the questions appropriately. However, as Brett Baier stated ---

"I haven't seen presidents have a book" I haven't seen a president flip through motes like Biden to read answers".  https://video.foxnews.com/v/6243951615001#sp=show-clips

So, did you watch Biden's first press conference?
What did you think, did Biden satisfy answering the posed questions to your satisfaction?

Solid thread title to spur debate.  I only saw parts, but his answer to running for re-election certainly raised my own eyebrows and had me shaking my head.

I thought it was fine. Nothing earth shattering occurred.

As for saying he will run for reelection, can you imagine the hubbub that would ensue if he said he wasn't? Of course he said he would run in 2024.

It seemed more of a photo op than a press conference. The part I found most frustrating was when asked about when the press would have access to view how they are treating the children he said something to the effect of 'when we're ready'.

To be honest, the hypocrisy is galling and the incompetence is untenable. A free pass to this administration for incompetence. In any normal, open press conference that answer would not have been stood for. He clearly had patsies chosen for the seats in the press section his handlers authorized him to call on.

I rewatched the press conference this morning. I noted Biden at one point claimed --  "Trump left children in Mexico "to starve to death". On Biden's very first day in office, Biden put a hold on the very program where migrants waited in Mexico for their court date.

He now claimed to be trying to negotiate with Mexico at this point for Mexico to take families back to wait in Mexico for their court dates. Go figure!

He acted as it was a wonderful idea contradicting himself about how he felt immigrants were treated by the Mexican Government.   IMO he takes a crash and burns method to problem-solving. And now has to make an attempt to initiate a Trump policy.

He also borrowed the Trump administration's though about housing immigrants on Military bases. If my memory serves me this idea was met with pundits calling Trump inhumane. Some nightly pundits using analogies comparing the very same military base to concentration camps. Always thought this an odd hypocritical claim. These bases are the very bases we housed our military.

For a guy who claims he's nice, he comes off as nothing more than someone more willing to throw insults and cast blame than a person with any real solutions.

very true, and never more evident than what stated about our former president starving children.  He is clearly not in control at times of what he saids. He has no solutions. He intends to fly low below the radar as he did on his lackluster campaign.
