Seeing a lot of GOP reps saying that Pelosi's choice to deny Banks and Jordan spots on the January 6th select commission is some form of authoritarianism.

Here's the rub.  GOP reps negotiated a bipartisan January 6th commission where Kevin McCarthy would have had the ability to appoint an even number of reps and Pelosi would not have had the ability to block them.  Then McCarthy and McConnell voted against that bipartisan commission.

So, in playing politics, the GOP gave Pelosi the ability to keep those who helped propagate the big lie when they voted against certifying the election off the select committee she was able to form and had the control of the rules since it remained in her own chamber.

The bipartisan commission could have removed much of the politics from the investigation into January 6th.  This is the GOP's goal, to undermine any commission by turning it into political theater.  More disinformation tactics at play.

When you play stupid political games, you reap stupid prizes.

Let the Dems have the stage, they do so well at making fools of themselves.  However, in my opinion, the Democratic party should update its playbook.  Page 101 ---  conduct an investigation air it on the tube, present the usual cast of characters on the committee, Representatives you can trust to follow the playbook to the letter. All need to be able to pull out all the indignation they can pull up, and what they learned in speech class -- whisper, get an octave louder, and pause with tears in eyes, and choked up beyond being able to talk ---yet pull it together and load on a bit more unfounded indignation.    I guess I covered the full chapter on how to grab the ear of a liberal when you have the stage (any stage).   Oh, forgot one thing --- the first and the last sentence must be hyperbolic because many in your liberal audience will only remember the first and last sentences.

Now,  conservatives, they will just be shaking their heads at all the silliness.

Conservatives will shake their heads at wind blowing or sun shining if they thought the Democrats support those things.

What the Democrats will hope to expose to the 40% of independents in the country is the truth of January 6 in the hope that it exposes the negligence of electing Republicans to office.

I think most have moved on from the Dems little game, "hey look over here" at the Jan 6th protest.  Old news...  There is always that small minority that's needle gets stuck in a grove, most have moved on. Many, waking up to the disaster we have in the White House now,  drooling over ice cream, while inflation is rising, a wide-open border, crazy crime, people walking into stores and blatantly stealing, lots of deaths due to overdoses, mere babies being killed by thugs, and then there's Russia and China out and out laughing at us, and building their military's up while we worry about getting military maternity uniforms.

So you stay stuck on Jan 6th, you're right where they want you.

Of course your media bubble convinces you that 'most' have moved on.

Nearly 70% of my party still has questions while over 60% of yours is fine sweeping the incident under the rug.

With the largest question being about what a potential 2024 candidate was doing during the time the riot took place and why the response took so long under his command.  If he was in support of an attack on our Capitol or whether he was just too inept to put a stop to the violence, that information will be pertinent to his future election chances.

So while you want to continue to ignore those questions and the pathetic covid response that had the US with 400,000 excess deaths compared to other developed nations, many of us will continue to remind you what a train wreck Trump was and that Biden, on his worst day, will never reach that much carnage or treason.

And you keep saying we have inflation, crime, overdoses, but all of those things began during the Covid response.  Biden has border issues that I have also been critical of, no denying that.  But I'll take Biden who doesn't cower to Russia or beg China to help him get elected any day.

So you stay with the party that lies to you, convinces you to march on your own Capitol maskless during a pandemic and endangering police officers, and exists only to obstruct and undermine its own government.  If being gullible, letting your media enrage you, and attacking your own country is your idea of patriotism, it won't be long until we see more Trumpers behind bars.

Out of all your drama-laden comment, I noted this as so laughable --- " But I'll take Biden who doesn't cower to Russia or beg China to help him get elected any day."

We will be attending Olympics in a country where people are being enslaved and tortured, killed in concentration camps. And will not cooperate with the COVID investigation. And Biden rewarded Russia with  Nord Stream 2.

These are facts you don't seem to be able to digest  IMO Biden is a confused man that is being used by a corrupt political party. And that party loves China and Russia.

Trump had Russia on their knees ---  https://www.brookings.edu/blog/order-fr … on-russia/

Right back at you ---   If being gullible, letting your left-wing media enrage you, and attacking your own country is your idea of patriotism, it won't be long until we see more behind bars in mental institutions.

SOME,  just can't break free of TDS, a very sad state of mental health.

Trump Demagogue Syndrome is real and you're clearly inflicted with it.  And the drama is you attributing every problem created during the pandemic to Biden.  That's you being overly dramatic and in denial about the causation of when things actually began, under your golden god, Trump.

Trump cowered in front of Putin, with Helsinki being the greatest embarrassment.
      https://www.npr.org/2018/07/17/62960123 … g-whats-up

And Trump was willing to trade favors to China for help getting reelected:

And you're right, some just can't break free from their Trump Demagogue Syndrome, a very sad state of future Domestic terrorists in the making.

Again I prove my point TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP...

How about all those sanctions?   One after another --- LOL  Sorry to take a big hit at your defense mechanism/ Facts are fact. "We believe in truth, not facts" Joe Biden

And the pipeline was the biggest thing that happened to Putin in his entire life.

Sorry, a fired employee is not too good of a source in my book.

        How about Joe? LOL

I understand you always want to talk only about Joe and any time someone compares him to Trump's failures, you get defensive and start throwing out your TDS claims.  Your BDS is pretty out of hand.

          https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2 … -barack-o/

Trump sanctioned everyone for economic gain.  Those sanctions rarely changed foreign policy.  As for the pipeline, it was 90% complete already and Germany wanted to finish the construction.  Biden, looking to mend a fractured relationship with Germany under Trump, likely threw an ally a bone.

Trump said he fired him, Bolton said he resigned.  Either way, Bolton was in the room to witness Trump begging China for help.  An American president should be able to win re-election on his own merits, not with foreign assistance.
