Nothing is better than freedom. How did we loose it?

How, in a land made prosperous by rugged individualism and personal sacrifice, not by government, did the people become sheep when their governors signed orders that purported to deny the right to worship, work, travel, assemble peaceably and use private property as one sees fit?

Covid is just one way to die. There are a dozen other greater ways to die. Plus few much greater ways to die than  covid
We are all going to die, most forgot how to live.

Perhaps the biggest answer is a slow, but constant, increasing dependence on government.  That "rugged individualism and personal sacrifice" is literally being bred out of America by ever growing "welfare" programs designed to lock people into the charity of government rather than be responsible for themselves.

The wealthy are having world record breaking profits wail the poor get poorer. First level
People are given free money and time to stay home, it takes out alot of ways of thinking for yourself there. Level 2
Poverty kills more than anything and absolute power corrupts. As wealthy get stronger they always require more slaves. Level 3
Independent strong individual loosing more of their empowerment.
This will go on for 2 to 4 years from now. Where to put the Welfare and homelessness people is  beyond me. Maybe. Tiny houses and farming is really looking excellent. .

"Where to put the Welfare and homelessness people is  beyond me."

Take away the welfare and housing subsidies from those that want it but don't need it and they will solve their problems themselves.  Probably by working.  Just my opinion; I believe that few people would rather sit in front of the TV and starve to death than work for what they get.

They have gotten lazy from free money. Why go back to work and make less money. Take out another 6 trillion dollars, more fear mongering. Then they can be slaves in Fema camps

+10000000000000.   Draconian, tough love strategies MUST BE IMPLEMENTED regarding the welfare issue.   The edict is TO WORK or STARVE/BE HOMELESS.  There are far too many fraudulent people on welfare.  There are people who use welfare as a business.   America must do a 180 turn which won't happen under the Democrats/Liberals.  If it weren't for liberalism, welfare would be 1/10 of what it is now.    There should be WORKFARE instead of WELFARE period.

Many people find it difficult to handle "freedom". Freedom is tough. You have to make your own choices. Many people rather want to work in a company so other people tell them what to do.
All countries have a hierarchy. The western world is based upon a class system or a religious system. Kings have the land and own the people. This is still today the same thing. (read for kings companies)
We are manipulated by commercials and religion.
And we are ok with it, as independent thinking is really hard and tough.
There are only a handful of people who do. And these intellectuals are feared by governments. As they are the ones that can change the hierarchy.
As the media is owned in many countries by the governments/companies/powers that be, these voices are seldom heard, or when so made fun of.
Social media isn't good either as people who are screaming that the world is flat are getting the same attention and value as people with deep ideas.

We all will die, but I don't want to die because of the stupidity of the other.

Only thing I can cheer for now is the unhealthy and stupid die off. So I have their fine cars and mansions.

        Hey, Good focus!

One wonders if people who commit crimes, maybe the youth who don't know what else to do, or where else to go in life,  w a n t  to go to jail!
I knew an eighteen year old like that. He would get out of jail only to pull some other stupid stunt and back in he went.

Freedom, once you taste it, is a powerful motivator toward becoming strong enough for independence. On Jerry Seinfeld last night they discussed the glories of a wide buffer-zone between themselves and their parents.

America is going to turn right because of the excesses of the stupid Democratic Party.  People are getting tired of living under a dictatorship of wearing masks & getting vaccines.  People are rebelling.  People are leaning towards the right.  America is going to turn rightward.   Remember Carter, Americans got SICK of Carter & elected Reagan for President.  History DOES repeat itself.

We can only come together and save ourselves. Forget the politicians.
