Don't get excited, or mad, this one's just for giggles. Come on now, a politician getting caught faking a pose to push an agenda is funny. It should happen more often.

This one is a real chuckle. The video clips are even better. She looks like she's doing the defiant-perp-walk thing.

I throwing Red everywhere Cred, what's your take on this one?

I thought that AOC was actually arrested for protesting to the point where she and her crowd were impeding the flow of traffic. I may have to check this story again.

Under the circumstances, the arrests were justified, however

There is no democracy if women do not have control over their own bodies and decisions about their own health, including reproductive care," Maloney said in a statement. "I have the privilege of representing a state where reproductive rights are respected and protected—the least I can do is put my body on the line for the 33 million women at risk of losing their rights. The Republican Party and the right-wing extremists behind this decision are not pro-life, but pro-controlling the bodies of women, girls, and any person who can become pregnant. Their ultimate goal is to institute a national ban on abortion. We will not let them win. We will be back."

Carolyn Maloney of New York, House of Representatives.

I gotta stand with her and her assessment..... and I am "coming back" with them. Good strategy says to keep the controversy and protests at the front and center for any and all media sources at least until November, I say.

And every single time some highly visible woman talks about their right to murder infants it will drive the division wider.

Why does no one, from either side of the chasm, ever address the concerns of the other.  Always either "My body, my right" or "You do not have the right to murder children"?  Because it can only lead to that most terrible of things, an actual compromise?

So, Wilderness, what happened to this?

          CREDENCE2 WROTE:

I understand, but why have a law that says life begins at conception thus it is illegal to use morning after pills and such. Conservatives won't even compromise with this 12-14 weeks, they criminalize at the point of fertilization.  They make it illegal to terminate even 4 or 5 days according to these laws. That is extremist, yet that is what I am seeing coming from too many red states.

All or nothing which is the way of conservatives on this issue and it simply won't do.

          Wilderness reply;

Just like the gun control problem, with liberals hell bent to disarm America...while claiming that is not their goal at all.

Problem is that we as a nation, or at least our politicians fighting for re-election, have decided that compromise will NOT be a part of their agenda.  All or nothing, with no in-between, for voting for a compromise might cost them a vote or two from the fringe of their party.
          ----------
Conservatives are the ones that do not want to compromise, giving a zygote rights over the living female.

I say bring on the division, the Right must be decimated politically in this and many other of its policies. We are not here to put anyone at ease or make them comfortable in the face of such a contentious issue.

The conservatives and their present attitudes take the concept of "compromise" off from the table. Now the gloves are off, we are to now fight without giving any quarter. Just keep that cauldron stirred and boiling until November.

You are correct; conservatives (at least the radical right) refuse to compromise.  Just as the far left liberals refuse to do so on gun control (a fake "compromise", acknowledging that the fight will continue next month doesn't count).

I'm certain you will continue the fight.  Just as I am certain that you will never address the murder of infants outside of saying it doesn't happen.  And so it continues on.  And on and on and on and on.

So you stand with her, in support of purposely projecting a false impression, (the handcuff thing)?

The OP wasn't talking about the validity of her 'protest'. It was talking about the 'fake' handcuffs. And look where you went; skipped right past to offer rationalizations for the protest.

Oh well, one step forward, two steps back.

How are you so sure that restraints are not there? I can't discern from the photo whether restraints are there or not. Maybe they were placed there after the picture was taken, short of an eyewitness it is tough to discern this? Who knows, maybe she offered no resistance and was arrested without restraints being necessary. She, as a public figure, needed to avoid negative publicity and was more concerned about the protest message over the arrest. I remember such approaches being used during the Civil Rights Era.

After all, liberals are always reasonable and intillegent people, right?

The validity of her protest and its affect on the viewing public is  "the thing"

I am true blue yet I am seeing red. I want this to be a dinner table topic everywhere from now until November. So, that we may not forget, that conservatives and Republicans are to be properly punished at election time.

What? Do you mean the photo of the fake pose was fake? Damn my lying eyes have fooled me again.

Here ya go, click the image, it's The Daily Mail, so just skip the text and check out the photos and video. (don't miss her raised fist part-way through the perp walk)

You did get lucky, AOC's tweet explains the innocence of her pose—it was for safety. You can run with that, ;-)
