I thought this subject is so important that it deserved its own forum. On Jan 28, 2025, Trump is signing three EOs whose foreseeable unintended consequence is to weaking the US Military and our national security overall.

He has already started doing do by diverting money and human resources away from the war fighting effort in his pogrom against Hispanics. His newly minted platoon leader, failed CFO, accused sexual abuser, fellow misogynist Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is all to ready to help him bring America down.

    Specifically,

    1. Trump has rebanned transgenders from serving their country. This will likely result in discharging 14,000 highly trained war fighters which probably can't be replaced.

    2. Trump is bringing back discrimination to the military which proudly got rid of it back in the 1940s. His order to rip out efforts to improve miliary readiness from having a more diverse, inclusive, and equally/equitably treated armed forces almost guarantees that.

    3. In his anti-Law and Order mode, Trump has effectively pardon even more criminals. In this case, he destroyed any semblance of discipline in the miliary by rewarding soldiers who disobeyed legal orders with reinstatement and back pay.

He signed a fourth order to build an "iron dome" over the US, duplicating, for the most part, what is already in place.  But it does make a good sound bite while he drives America further in debt.

      1.  There is no "pogrom" against Hispanics.

      2.  Part of the duty of our military is to protect our border: spending money to do exactly that is not "weakening our military and national security".

      3.  Transgenders "probably" CAN be replaced.  There is no reason to think we cannot hire more people.

      4.  You cannot "improve military readiness" with DEI.  What you CAN do with it is harm military readiness and ability, and that is exactly what was done.

      5.  Cannot speak for Hegseth, but there is no "fellow misogynist" to consider.  Your obvious demonization of Trump is again false to fact, shown to be what it is by the large number of women hired to help run our country.

So...every one of your points is false to fact, coming from your own massive bias caused by TDS and it's hatred of Trump and anything remotely connected to Trump.

Tell that to the Hispanics, they certainly feel that way with ICE busting into their businesses and schools and sooner or later churches.

No, the active duty military does NOT have a role to play protecting our domestic borders during peacetime UNLESS authorized by Congress. Specifically, The Posse Comitatus Act (1878) restricts active-duty military personnel from enforcing domestic laws, including immigration laws, unless explicitly authorized by Congress. At the moment, Trump is safe because he is wasting military resources only in a support role.  I have no doubt he intends on them taking on a policing role.

At What Cost!!!  Of course 14,000 new people can be hired and spend billions of dollars training them to do the jobs current service members are already doing.  Makes sense (only to Trumpers).  And NO, they probably can't be replaced given the military is not meeting its recruiting goals now, which is only going to get MUCH worse has Trump and Hegseth make our military something to be scared of.

Of course you can improve organizations, including military, with implementing DEI. Many studies prove that.

I don't need to "speak" for Hegseth. He speaks for himself and has proven to be a misogynist just like Trump.

I have the same reaction to Trump as I would Putin, deservedly so. They are two peas in a pod.
