Suspended for 7 days....why? Not one reason given.  Interesting isn't it? Interesting that the righteous right-wing crowd can bloviate endlessly about free speech but turns around to report posts on a forum.  Seems about right.

I have been the most personally attacked individual on this forum. No doubt about it, including direct assaults on my actual intelligence.   Have I ever reported? No.  I tend to think of myself as not a crybaby .

I'm wondering why so many run to moderation, who is obviously a very sympathetic to the complaints.  Why?  Unable to let post speak for itself?  Folks needing to eliminate opposition? Because posts can't stand on their own?

Random thoughts? That's right up my alley. I have them all the time.

But this one isn't random, it's a standard. If you (generic) can't stand the heat, what are you doing in the kitchen!

I leaped to the conclusion that the suspension was yours? And that you might have a friend named FayettevilleFaye?

This 'reporting stuff' is nuts. What the hell are you (again, generic) doing in an online political discussion forum (instead of a choirroom) if your skin is too thin to even scratch!

Persistence can be a virtue. If you know that 'Faye' person, you know the persistence I mean. Good job.

I have never seen anything you post that is even close to reportable. Never seen you run to daddy because your feelings were hurt either.

Well, that's a pretty tough slam against reporting folks. I hope no one can prove I'm pointing a finger in their direction.  ;-)

The suspension of 7 days was all mine for unspecified reasons, even after asking.   I was only pointed to a list of fairly vague forum rules.  I thought maybe my language would have been objectionable but no, profanity isn't even included on the list. Keeping to the exact title/intent of a thread, well that was included  but who hasn't veered toward an offshoot path?  Who knows how long my persistence will last. And Faye?  No, not a friend.

The stagnant $7.25 Minimum Wage fuels SNAP Reliance for 41.9 Million Americans....

The federal minimum wage has remained at $7.25 per hour since 2009, while SNAP supported 41.9 million people in 2024, with 60% of recipient households including working adults. Advocates propose raising it to $25-$28, adjusted for inflation and productivity, to boost incomes and reduce SNAP enrollment, as supported by Economic Policy Institute analyses. Critics, citing Congressional Budget Office projections, argue such hikes could eliminate 1.4 million jobs and strain small businesses amid ongoing debates on economic inequality.

If someone works full-time and receives SNAP, that means your taxpayer dollars are subsidizing the company's profits because it refuses to pay them a livable wage.

This can only be said so many ways; it isn’t difficult to grasp.... I'm really tired of the simplistic ignorant argument about folks on snap buying Oreos and if we just deny them the Oreos then everything will be fine....

First of all Willow, welcome home. So much for the idea of actually having an. Intelligent conversation with some people.

The point which I made in article 12 years ago was just what you are saying that the fat cat capitalist class by not paying a livable wage since 2009 is having the tax payer pay and subsidize through social welfare programs. “Capitalist profits, socialized losses”…….

Conservatives also like to blame the poor and destitute for everything ignoring the sheer greed of the system as to how it is truly designed to operate.

I am with you, i am tired of the tall tales woe about lobster and steak purchases that these people, making only a handful of dollars a day, are accused picking up a the grocery stores.

Willowarborposted 2 weeks agoin reply to this

          Thank you Credence!

Republicans continually frame the issue of SNAP benefits disingenuously.

The question isn’t why there are over 40 million Americans on SNAP. The question is why so many people who are gainfully employed make so little that they qualify for it.

They also conveniently ignore the fact that every $1 in SNAP generates $1.50–$1.80 in economic activity, billions that keep our towns running.

But at an average monthly benefit of about $188 for an individual or $6.25 a day... I certainly don't think many food luxuries are being bought.

The cruelty is always the point with this regime.

They always attack the most vulnerable, the most marginalized, and the most in need of support.

All to protect their tax cuts for the super-rich.

      Laser focus on affordability huh?

It is an imperial presidency from a man that has no basic understanding of his role and position. As for the “let them eat cake”, heads are going to roll as a result of that stance and attitude.

How the Trump Administration Is Giving Even More Tax Breaks to the Wealthy...

"The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service are issuing rules that provide hundreds of billions of dollars in tax relief to big companies and the ultrarich.

With little public scrutiny, the Trump administration is handing out hundreds of billions of dollars in tax cuts to some of the country’s most profitable companies and wealthiest investors.

The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service, through a series of new notices and proposed regulations, are giving breaks to giant private equity firms, crypto companies, foreign real estate investors, insurance providers and a variety of multinational corporations.

The primary target: The administration is rapidly gutting a 2022 law intended to ensure that a sliver of the country’s most profitable corporations pay at least some federal income tax. The provision, the corporate alternative minimum tax, was passed by Democrats and signed into law by President Joseph R. Biden Jr. It sought to stop corporations like Microsoft, Amazon and Johnson & Johnson from being able to report big profits to shareholders yet low tax liabilities to the federal government. It was projected to raise $222 billion over a decade.

But the succession of notices the Treasury and I.R.S. have issued beginning this summer means the tax could bring in a fraction of that."

The Treasury’s actions are contributing hundreds of billions of dollars to the federal deficit, tax experts said. That is on top of the trillions that the legislation signed by Mr. Trump in July is already adding to the deficit. Yet unlike laws passed by Congress, Treasury is under no obligation to publicly account for revenue lost by its actions — such as cutting spending to offset the money no longer being collected."

And how do you people think that he will make up that loss????

But please, tell me more about how we can't afford anything that benefits the average citizen LMFAO

If you had a friend who lied to you, you might overlook it once or twice. But if it was 5 times, you'd stop listening to what they said as if it was the truth. If they lied again, you'd stop listening to them altogether.
Trump has told over 50,000 lies, some of them hundreds of times. And yet the media reports his statements without qualifying them as the bloviations of a pathological liar. Their reports begin with "Trump said," instead of "Trump claimed." His pathologies rarely.. almost never even enter the discourse.
This is normalization. It has always been Trump's biggest empowerment, without which he'd be nothing but a self-promoting over-the-top ass hat, which is how he was seen and perceived for decades in NYC...

What you say is so true, and it is those lies suck vulnerable people into his cult. If they are weak enough or predisposed then, through repetition, it is an easy task to con them.

Trump: "By the time my first year ends, we're gonna have over $20 trillion of investment coming into the US. It's unheard of." (The entire US GDP is about $30 trillion, so yes, it's unheard of) LOL

"It’s unheard of” = it’s not true... Sort of like a "sir"  story.

Oddly, after raking in the unheard of 20 TRILLION, the National Debt, keeps going up. What a dementia ridden old jackass...

INGRAHAM: Then why are people saying they're anxious about the economy?

TRUMP: I don't know they are saying that. The polls are fake. We have the greatest economy we've ever had
