1.Americans' Change of Heart on Health Care
It didn't take long for Americans to come around on health-care reform: A new USA Today/Gallup poll shows 49 percent of Americans saying health-care reform is a "good thing," with only 40 percent saying it is bad. This is a marked reversal from polling from before the legislation was passed and signed, which typically showed the public opposed. Forty-eight percent of respondents also say it's just a "good first step" that needs to be followed up with more action. Additionally, congressional Republicans rate the lowest out of all the major players: 26 percent said their work was excellent or good, while 34 percent say it was poor; for congressional Democrats, those numbers are 32 and 33 percent; for Barack Obama, they're 46 and 31 percent.
This is just another gambit to say "see, everybody thinks it's ok now, so you should too"
Pure propaganda
Funny how Internet polls on shady sites have more credence with some...
Well, people have been linking to lots of polls for months from conspiracy sites, yahoo, and other websites. I'm sure you can find some if you search.
The entire Republican Party and nearly half of the Democrats opposed this Bill.
Polls ask questions to get a desired result to the people who hire the Polling Company.
60 Minutes did an entire story on how Polls are manipulated.
Republicans Manipulate Polls... Democrats Manipulate Polls.
If you asked the average Republican Right Winger if they are for Health Care Reform... they would say "yes". If you asked them if they are for this Health Care Bill they would say "no".
The point being is that people do want reform. They oppose the way this Bill is MANDATING coverage and trampling their rights.
There are Democrats Cheering this bill. Like it's some kind of Victory.
But nothing in this bill is creating reform that will lower costs. Team Obama removed the ability of the Government to regulate premium rates. So the Insurance Companies are able to charge whatever rate they want.
Now when you throw in people with pre-exisiting conditions you are increasing the costs to the risk pool. This will cause rates to go up.
All this bill does is force people to buy insurance. What's next? What does the Government force people to buy next?
So maybe you are for FORCING people to buy insurance. That's great you are entitled to your opinion. But what happens next when the Government comes along and FORCES you to buy into something you are not in favor of?
This is an ugly president that tramples on your freedoms.
And that's the point of the opposition to the Bill. It's not about Health Care... it's about stripping away your rights as an American Citizen to choose how and where you spend your money!
Does the Government have the right to take a part of your paycheck to build the Gaza Strip? Does the Government have the right to take more of your paycheck to fund Medicare in Lousiana and you live in Maine? Apparently they do because they are doing it.
How about a complete Ban on Cigarettes and Alcohol all together?
How about the Government telling you where you can vacation and banning all foreign travel?
The Government mandating that you replace your old furnace with a new energy efficient furnace?
Won't it be great when the Government has complete and total control over your life? They will tell you what to do, where you can do it, for how long, and with whom.
Cheers to the complete and total destruction of rights, freedom, and liberty.
Bring on more and bigger Government.
Anyone care to learn from History? Why do you think people left Europe for America in the first place?
I have a friend who is Chinese, a Trained Orthopedic Surgeon. He was FORCED by the Chinese Government to become a Doctor. He was told how much he could charge and what he would do everyday. It was very stressful and paid very little. He didn't want to be a Doctor, he was forced into it. He didn't like it. He had no other options. And he got out of China. Now he doesn't have to do something he doesn't want to do.
Life will truly be great when your dreams passions and desires are no longer attainable. When the Government shuts down your opportunity to be whatever you want to be and pursue your dreams.
I think you will find this polling service a lot more accurate than Gallup. Rasmussen polls likely voters not a targeted group as most pollsters do. And do you really believe that in just 4 days Americans just fell in love with this bill?

And just for fun.

Are we SURE the Chinese Government does not have some ownership of Gallup ???
Well it all must be OK Castro just endorsed Obamacare so everything must be fine.

Well, they HAVE been able to keep him alive all these years... that does say something about the Cuban healthcare system (at least if you are the head of the party)
I am sure the administration is jumping for joy to have Castro's endorsement.
Lets break out the Che shirts..

I simply do not understand why people are fighting health care reform. I have heard the arguments against it and I keep saying how is that worse than being held hostage by the insurance companies? My insurance cost keeps going and in turn I get less and less coverage. They say the govt run...

I hear every day about how Obama is not telling the truth about health care reform. I would like to be educated about the subject. What is he saying that just get under your skin about health care reform. And if it get under your skin, how would he need to change to have you to...

Web-site/URL: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162- … ?tag=stackThis vote will be close yet again. Obama came to power, promising to reduce the craziness on Capitol Hill and unite people as Americans. So far, this hasn't happened.

I thought this article was interesting, especially since it appeared in the NYT. According to this guru, costs will INCREASE, not decrease. This is the same guru that democrats hailed as wonderful when he challenged Bush. Don't worry, though, costs will increase by only a few billion, and what's a...

http://www.marketwire.com/press-release … 303313.htmAn independent study of compliant and non- compliant insurance companies has found that compliance with the new health care reform laws could lead to bankruptcy of insurers.Ah! Everything is going according to Obama's plans!

...for Obama to shut up, I'd imagine. He was on the tube today demanding reconciliation and essentially pushing a health reform bill that the public doesn't want down that public's throat. I imagine a lot of dems are looking to November and wishing he'd just shut up already.
