    I would say that this is more about BP looking for politically good promotional stuff in this situation and Costner jumping at the chance.  The machines are well known in the industry and are effective in harbours and contained areas - but in the ocean they are like pissing on a blazing building.

      The Costners' machines have been discussed on the radio for weeks here.

      I'm interested in knowing about the existing machines that you alluded to, alternate poet.  Can you share some links to additional info about them?
