During the Obama Presidency and in the presence of former President Clinton, USA wins Group C in the Group Stages of the World Cup, achieving for the first time, a place in the last 16 knock-out stages.

What similar achievement can the Republicans point to?

    (keep it light wink

I was pleased to see the Americans win. I was not so pleased when Australia won, but not by enough to stay in. Bummer!

Well England are hanging on in there. They were better last night, but still didn't look anything special. I reckon Maradonna's guys are in with a shout. If they win, they'll crown him King!

That's some achievement.  Finishing 16th place in a sporting event that nearly no one in the United States even cares about.

Those are exactly the kind of high standards that we can expect from the Democratic Party.

Cheers for pointing out what means nothing.

Light, Mike, "keep it light."  Add a smiley or a smirkey or a lolly or guffawey or something - please?

It hasn't finished. It is starting. You guys have got into the last 16. I don't think you'll win, but it's no mean achievement.

And by the way, 'soccer' is hugely popular in US, until professionalism takes over (and corruption sets in). US women's soccer is top of the World.

You are the only country that holds a 'World Series' without inviting foreign competition!!!

Soccer is "hugely popular" with children until they get old enough to be embarrassed to tell anyone they play it.

And the World Series is loaded with foreign competition. We put them on the teams and pay them s**t loads of money.

That's not foreign competition. It's just professionalism.

Yes, if you're afraid of losing!
