. . . .the lawmakers say they,re merely following through on a pledge they made when the health care overhaul passed in March, and they expect the White House and Democratic leadership to do the same.
Some members of the caucus almost withheld their votes for health reform over what they saw as punitive, anti-immigrant measures in the bill, which bans illegal immigrants from using newly created exchanges to buy insurance, even with their own money, and maintains a five-year waiting period for legal residents to enroll in Medicaid.
They signed on only after receiving assurances that their concerns would be rectified as part of the immigration reform battle, according to lawmakers, advocates and Hill aides.
The expectation was that everybody knew it was unfair and that a new immigration bill would correct that, Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) told POLITICO.
Asked at what level he received such signals, Grijalva said: High enough to feel secure about it.

Dang!! I wish I could change the title of this thread. There are congressmen who are now working to make it legal for illegal aliens to buy big pool health insurance. We have been assured and assured that this would not be the case. But these congressmen were strongly assured by someone high up in exchange for their votes, that this would indeed be the case. Does this trouble anyone but me??
I know, but it's so blatant. They are such blatant liars. I guess people are just numb to it.
At least whats his face... Wilson... said it like it was to him.
"You lie"... I have that taped on the DVR and I chuckle everytime I hear it.
Sooo true.
Yeah, Mason, but how can you bear watching little Nancy's feigned outrage over again? Gad! It's even worse than her lip quivering over tea party violence. I hope she loses her job soon.
I hope Harry Reid smells us coming.
Getting so deep it's hard to even wade through all the reasons the hill needs a deep fumigation.
1. They said the individual mandate wasn’t a tax, but now it turns out it is.
2. They said you could keep your own insurance, but now it turns out you can’t.
3. They said ObamaCare wouldn’t fund abortions, but now it turns out it will.
4. They said ObamaCare wouldn’t be extended to illegal aliens, but now…

A group of Democratic lawmakers wants to use the immigration reform debate to fix one of the most hotly contested aspects of the health care law … The move by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus would add a contentious new element to an already monumental task — passing a bill that puts 11 million illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship. But the lawmakers say they’re merely following through on a pledge they made when the health care overhaul passed in March, and they expect the White House and Democratic leadership to do the same.
3000 pages and, undoubtedly, 3000 lies.

If we're going to keep adding benefits that we can't afford at this rate, it's really important that we take control of our immigration policy. This whole thing is going to be so expensive. We have to to a better job of bring illegal aliens back to their home countries. It's not hard finding them but it bothers me that our government both, on the local and federal level, do so little to round them up and return them.
I'm beat and haven't really read through this thread, but the title amazes me. You mean there are people that are here illegally who are b*tching cuz we're not giving them healthcare? Huh? What?
What part of "illegal" am I not getting?
Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) stated: “Clearly, if they have status for a period of time, even if it is a pending status, they are no longer an undocumented immigrant and therefore they could, for example, purchase insurance with their own money.”
Of course, if the five-year waiting period for Medicaid is repealed, millions of illegal aliens would be able to to enter the already bloated and unsustainable system.
According to the Migration Policy Institute, 86 percent of adult illegal aliens would qualify for Medicaid coverage, under the current income requirement.
The added costs to the taxpayers would be in the billions annually.
At a time when 1 in 5 Americans is either out of work or underemployed, suggesting that we add tens of millions more to the Medicaid rolls would be laughable, that is, if the Congressmen were not serious about the proposal.
Though President Obama will never mention this hard truth, if we simply ordered all illegal aliens out of the country and deported the ones who refused the order, as well as place our military along the border…Healthcare costs would stop rising and could even drop.
We do not need a government takeover of the best healthcare system in the world, nor do we need an amnesty bill for illegal aliens (a.k.a Comprehensive Immigration Reform), we only need to defend our border and expel those here illegally.
It’s really very simple…Put an end to illegal immigration, and you put an end to the ‘healthcare crisis.’

Some people say President Obama told illegal aliens they can vote. It is reported that 3,000,000 did just that in California. What about Arizona? What about Florida? How can that happen? The Governor of North Carolina is suspicious about the vote that took him out of...

My opinion is no, we should not.The problems of failed or "third world" countries have resulted in millions of people fleeing those countries to steal the better life the people of other non third world countries have. The United States is one of those countries. We have allowed these...

Trump mentioned that border control and the building of a wall is a crucial matter.Yes, he is right. It is a matter of justice. The nation does not owe the citizens of other countries ANYTHING. On the contrary it owes it's citizens EVERYTHING. And illegals are TAKING everything:Resources, tax money,...
