"NY1 is reporting a scary story: Apparently a New York City cabbie was stabbed Monday night by his passenger — after confirming that the cabbie was Muslim:

Investigators with the New York City Police Department say it all began Monday night when a 21-year-old man hailed a cab at 24th Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan.

Police say the passenger asked the driver, “Are you Muslim?” When the driver said yes the passenger pulled a knife and slashed him in the throat, arm and lip.

According to NY1, the cabbie managed to lock the passenger in the back seat while he called 911. Then both cabbie and crazy deranged passenger were taken to Bellevue Hospital, a few blocks away. According to NY1 — and sort of incredibly — as of late last night, the crazy deranged passenger had not yet been charged. No word on the condition of the cabbie at this point, either. Right now, NY1 appears to be the only source for this story (and their source seems to just be the police).

Update: TPM reports that the passenger, a 43 year-old Asian man named Michael Enright, has been charged with “attempted murder two as a hate crime, assault with a weapon as a hate crime, aggravated harassment second degree because of race and religion, and criminal possession of a weapon.”

In my last post about the site of a Kentucky mosque under construction - a lot of wingnuts bent over backwards to suggest no one has yet proved the arson was white Christian rednecks. Others were sure it was a case of arson for insurance. (wink, nudge). This is where propagating hate leads - whether the object f that hate is a doctor who performs abortion - or a random Muslim in NYC. Do we need bodies dangling from a tree before we recognize how dangerously wrong the American Crusade is?

I would disagree - in current society hate is generated by the ruling class who divide and conquer by every means from outirght war such as the unwarranted war on Iraq, to feminism to divide the sexes, black from white, christian from everyone else.

      American Crusade?
You infer that the average American is in favor of such despicable behavior?

I think you are very, very wrong. Your own self-righteous attitude about this is as bad as the behavior you cite. Your blanket statements and generalizations about Americans being bigoted and hateful is as traitorous as the supposed terrorists for which you make observation.

    and meanwhile:

"A bigoted pastor who has assailed gays and Muslims is launching the "9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero" a mere two blocks from the World Trade Center site this Sunday but so far the project hasn't drawn a peep of protest from those who are outraged by the "ground zero mosque."

Not to mention, Americans don't care to learn who was really behind 9/11...they would rather be comfortable in their hate.

Lets face the facts, no matter who we are, where we are, or what we believe in we have all hated at one point in time. I still have hate in my heart, but the only thing i hate is hatred itself. (Ironic isn't it) The truth is is that hate in any form is wrong. hate breeds violence and violence only breeds more violence. Hate and violence solve nothing, they only make this world a terrible place to live in. Love is the answer, it always has been and always will be. even if you are not a christian, all can agree that the teachings of Christ are very wise ones. It wasn't just Christ that tried to show us these things either. There have been many individuals that have tried to send us the same message. But mankind has always ignored this message because we are selfish and greedy. anyone out there up for changing the world?

      Wrong again dougie...

      http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.c … nright.php

But you knew that.  You just want people to look at the English name and say "huh?" Then google and see it was a white male.  pathetic really

Personally dougie, I would spend my time figuring out a way for you and your GREEEDY generation to pay back the youth of America.  You've stolen trillions from them... How about  your much anticipated HUB #6  be the pay-back plan?
