Illinois will be a very watched state when it comes to the 2010 election.  First off, there is a very competitive U.S. Senate race for President Obama's old senate seat between Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias and U.S. Representative Mark Kirk.  Then, the Governor's race in Illinois is between Governor Pat Quinn, who took over as Governor after Rod Blagojevich was impeached, and State Senator Bill Brady. The Senate race is very close with Kirk holding a very slight lead.  In the Governor's race, Brady leads by 8 points.  There is a big momentum for the state's Republican party with Kirk and Brady, along with other Republicans running for state wide offices leading.  The Chicago machine remains strong and we will see what happens.
