I think I may have the solution that would motivate the unemployed to seriously pursue employment. Not sure what to call it yet, something like Marijuana for jobs!
Basically if you are employed or at the very least are not receiving benefits like welfare etc. then you qualify to go to your doctor to ask for a prescription for marijuana, you can say its to relieve the stress of going to work and paying bills and all that stuff or to help with sleep or whatever. I tell you what, all them stoners out there would be hitting the pavements looking for ANY employment so that they qualify for medicinal marijuana! Whats more, you would still have to pay to get your prescription filled so a bit of revenue could be generated there.
I know I would be happy to do some menial job like picking up rubbish around my local parks and shopping centres stoned. I could probably manage flippin burgers if I got nicely toasted at the end of the shift and I probably would not wind up first page 'woman goes berserk and kills 3 with meat turning device!' if I have a splif to look forward to when dealing with the ignorant masses seeking a coronary through fast food consumption!
The best way to create jobs would be to, first, stop production of all electricity.
That would create a TREMENDOUS number of jobs as people would have to go back to creating everything without electricity. Want that new car? better buy horses - which were raised by horse farmers... who's food was prepared by newly created farming jobs!
Second, we need to block out the sun, that way candle makers will have 700000 times more work, and thus more jobs!!
