Dear Sirs and Lady's. Well, all the work, schooling, studying, sacrificing, and money you ......have strived for over the years, has finally paid off. You are patting yourselves on the back and saying, Mon, Dad, I did it. WOOOOOO, just a darn minute here. Did, WE THE PEOPLE, US, THE OLD GEEZERS, THE GRAY HAIRED BRIGADE, hear you right, YOU DID IT.... Best think that one again. If it was not for, ONE, of us Seniors, YOU, would not be there to puff your chest out today. HOGWASH, you say. Well, here are a few FACTS you have forgotten about. You now will have to do something that, WE THE PEOPLE, have not seen too much of lately, and that is, THINK.....

Number 1. Who brought you into this world? Us SENIORS

Number 2. Who put food into your mouth? Us SENIORS

Number 3. Who put cloths on your backs? Us SENIORS.

Number 4. Who keep you safe, and, if you got into a little mess, who got you out? Us SENIORS.

Number 5. Who put a roof over your head? Us SENIORS.

Now, knowing the real truth, after having to think about it, WE, THE SENIORS would like you, THE NEW CONGRESS AND SENATE to now take a good hard look at, HOW YOUR SENIORS ARE BEING TREATED.

Here are some simple facts that, WE THE PEOPLE, YOUR SENIORS, know you will understand. We are not going to try to, CONFUSE or SCARE YOU, like you have done to, US, WE THE PEOPLE, THE SENIORS, in the past. That was then and now is now. The ball is in your park now and it will be your decision as to the survival of us , SENIORS.

We will start with, COLA = Cost Of Living Adjustment

Fact Number 1. NO COLA = All SENIORS, VETS, DISABLED VETS OF AMERICA, WE THE PEOPLE who receive a Social Security Check, will no longer be able to keep up with our growing economy.

Fact Number 2. WE, THE SENIORS, for the last, TWO YEARS, have had, NO COLA, resulting in, FREEZING OF ALL SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS, to all of, WE THE PEOPLE.

If this was, or, is, your idea of, DECLINING THE POPULATION, or, reduction of our National Dept, then you have hit the nail right on the head.

Fact Number 3. In the past you have kicked US, SENIORS, to the curb and thrown US, Seniors, under the bus. Well, guess what? WE ARE NOT STAYING PUT.

Fact Number 4. We need you and you need us. WE THE PEOPLE, THE SENIORS, can still VOTE, I hope you know. You seen what happened November 2,2010. That was just a taste of what, WE THE PEOPLE, can do

We understand you plate is real full of a lot of Important Issues, and, WE THE PEOPLE, have read most of them, BUT, we see, NOTHING, about, COLA. Under no circumstance do we expect to be put at the top of your important agenda, not at all.

WE THE PEOPLE, do expect you to at least give us your attention when the time is right, and, do expect you to give our COLA, bock to, US, THE SENIORS, WE THE PEOPLE.

Mr. Orlin E. OLY Olson, aka, The Cola Guy

    Excellent post, OLYHOOCH.
I hate to tell you this, however. The freshman Congressional class is not listening to the likes of you.
You see, seniors are part of the "entitlement" class in America. Your Social Security and Medicare are bankrupting our great country, dontcha know.
These incoming legislators are on a mission -- a crusade, if you will. They are here to slash and burn, snip, cut, gut to the bone, the federal deficit.
Now, they tell us it's all for "future generations." That we, as a country, cannot leave our children's children with this enormous debt.
So let's look at it for what it is.
They are not representing you, the gray haired elders, the generation that fought WWII to keep our country free. Or the Baby Boomers whose only fault is there are so darned many of them!
They are certainly not representing me, the mid-lifers who have paid into Social Security for 30 years, but wonder if it's still gonna be there when I retire.
I question whether they represent the 20-30 year olds. Are these younger Americans really all in favor of privatizing their retiremen? Because we are all certain there will not be another stock market crash in their lifetime, right? Or, they can sock their money away in a CD or Money Market account yielding ...a whopping .1 to 1%.
No, it seems these people really are NOT representing living Americans. They tell us they are representing future generations. Funnily enough, these generations did not vote them in. Heck, they aren't even born yet! lol
