Head of the NDP Federal Government Party has died of a second bout of cancer-not long after announcing he had cancer again. He was 61. This was an extremly short battle. I am not one to post in the political forums, but this is sad. Sixty-one is a young age-younger than my parents. He never did become PM of Canada, although he was often the head of the opposition party.
This really has saddened me. He was a good guy and he will be missed.
'My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world.' - Jack Layton
Sad day for Canadians. I wasn't a NDPer, but I really enjoyed Jack Layton. He was a genuinely good guy with a good heart. He will be missed and hard to replace, if ever he can be replaced at all
It is a sad day for all of Canada. Even upon his death bed, his thoughts were with his people. His words that he spoke before passing are words of wisdom that lights the path of hope for all. Rest his soul.
