this is really gross, unbelievable what we want to do to our children, I thought it was bad what they sent overseas to the poor and starving

Everyone knows that both the condition of public education in America and the quality of the prison lunches they serve are toxic at best.

It's funny that everyone is so disgusted by this when they've been eating it for decades.

The stuff is fine so long as you don't eat gallons each day.

Most school cafeterias serve high carb, high fat, low protein meals. When I was teaching, we called the lunchroom the "international house of carbs." One meal might contain pizza (with a speck or two of semi-meat), bread, french fries, and cake. Another typical meal: soy patties, gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, a roll, and cookies. I kid you not. Finally, they began offering chef salads as a daily choice. Tell ya what, though - those ladies sure could make some awesome cornbread dressing!
