An Answer To A Proposal - A Simple Yes

Life is often so funny, so spontaneous and so unexplainable. Sometimes, it surprises you and sometimes that surprise moves you with the power of a butterflies wings. At first you don't know if you felt anything at all. Then you realize what has happened and the magnitude of it sends you into a special place which can only be described poetically.

Though a novice, this is my attempt to explain the power of a simple yes, spoken to a timid heart after a question of great importance. When the answer comes, it propels you forward light years from where you are, leaving ripples along the way without moving you an inch and in that moment time is memorialized as it lifts you into the stratosphere of joy. Speechless, you begin the journey of life in partnership with another soul, not knowing the outcome or the destination, but with the intention of just sharing the ride!

Yes seems such an undemanding word

I often took it for granted,

Then it rolled off of your lips

So gently it warmed me like the sun

Though life comes at us fast

It was the softness of your whisper,

Your I do made time surrender

to the moment of a kiss.

With a simple yes we discovered

How long forever is,

And forever is lengthened

by a grateful heart.
