Should You Marry Your Best Friend

Updated on July 15, 2012

Best Friends

Marry Me

Marriage always begin with the words " Will You Marry Me" but who should you marry?

You should only marry the one person you truly love, respect, trust and most importantly the one person you can truly call your BEST FRIEND! A best friend is someone you're very connected with, attracted to and desire. The intimate relationship is pleasurable and one you long for.

My best friend (My Wife) is the woman:

  • I am Happy with
  • I love to laugh with
  • I trust with my deepest secrets
  • I love being around
  • I enjoy spending the majority of time with
  • I enjoy experiencing new things with
  • I can be myself around (my silly, fun, goofy and sad side)
  • I feel safe with
  • I want to care for

What qualities do you look for in a best friend? These same qualities should also be found in your spouse. A successful marriage is one where you can be free and be yourself without any restrictions. Marriage should not be focused on attraction alone. A strong friendship will allow you to face the challenges of marriage and life as a team.

Many of today's marriages are based on financial stability, children and physical attraction. Although these are very important to marriage they do not create the same intimate connection of true friendship.

Be real to yourself and ensure who ever you marry is someone you unquestionably want to LOVE, RESPECT and TRUST.

LOVE is an emotional connection with the heart. You will know true love when you feel that spark in your heart. Many people confuse love with physical attraction but for me true love is the emotional connection of hearts between two people. The physical attraction is what captures our attention and creates the interest to meet a person.

RESPECT is simply valuing each other. When you respect someone you have positive feelings towards that person. You have to feel positive about the way a person carries themselves, treats other people and most importantly treats you. Respect the qualities each other possess. This will actually deepen your love and respect for each other.

TRUST in a relationship is confidence in each other. How much confidence do you have in the person you love to not disappoint you, harm you, take advantage of you and most importantly lie to you. A successful relationship (Marriage) has to include undeniable trust in order to have full happiness. This is probably the most difficult to accomplish in a marriage. To fully trust you must become confident and comfortable, you really must become one.

Marriage is a new life!

Before you enter into marriage ensure you are ready to start a new life and start a new family (Your Family). This step is missed when many couples first enter into a marriage. You must be confident you are ready to begin a family life. Your independence is not lost it is just enhanced with the new unity.

The mission and vision of life should be focused on your new Marriage.

Once married you are now united with harmony to maintain the Love, Respect and Trust.

  • UNITYis the state of being one.
  • ONENESS of mind, body and soul.
  • HARMONY that keeps the relationship together.
