If you're reading this, chances are that you've been married for nearly a year now and your honeymoon is long forgotten. Your first wedding anniversary is fast approaching and it's time to start a brand new tradition - the anniversary celebration.
Many couples like to select a gift that reflects their anniversary year. The traditional anniversary gift for the first anniversary is paper. Many young couples struggle to find appropriate anniversary gifts made from paper, but with a little thought, and some help from me, you'll soon discover a whole host of different gift ideas.
The Office: Uses of Paper
When asked to think of uses for paper, the Dunder Mifflin employees (Jim, Dwight, Kevin and friends) came up with:
- Ransom notes
- Anonymous threats
- Paper Airplanes
- Love Letters
Gifts Made From Paper
The first thing most people think of when talking about paper is writing paper. In a recent episode of NBC's award-winning comedy, The Office, the employees of Dunder Mifflin were asked to come up with uses of paper. Their suggestions were typically hilarious but they did hit on one very romantic idea: Love Letters.
Remember when you were dating and you wrote love letters all of the time?
How many have you written since your wedding day?
Love Letters from the Heart
Pen a new love letter to your partner describing how much you’ve enjoyed your first year of married life.
Or, dig up some of your old love letters that you sent to, or received from, your spouse and put them into a photo album.
Add your favourite photos from your courtship or wedding and you’ll have the perfect romantic gift.
If you want to take this one step further, put your love letter in a bottle and create your very own message in a bottle.
