Is it correct if your life partner is taking all your life's decision?

Every person have the right to take decision of their life, but when someone never think about their opinion, their like/dislike and make decisions,it hurts. So is it correct?

I believe you've answered your own question, cj. "Partnership" by its very nature means deciding and acting together, not one party making all the decisions for all parties. It's like the mules my great grandfather used to train to pull a plow. If the two did not learn to pull together, they never made an effective team.

The Two Mules Pulling Together is a superb analogy.

I completely agree with Jim - My wife and I take all of our important decisions jointly. Certainly, from time to time we may disagree, but that's when compromise needs to come into the equation and we work out the best way forwards.

I think it's important that we are empowered as individuals, sharing our ideas, thoughts and feelings with our loved ones and having those honoured by them.

No, it is not but my life partner is taking all my life's decision. Whatever decision is do, he disagree and wanted me to follow his. If I don't he will argue with me that I am being stubborn, stupid and wants to create trouble. Hence, I had to follow his decision, be it the food i eat,  what i wear, etc, as if i am the puppet. Reason; kids are important to me. I don;t want divorce to happen, not to my kids. If i have a choice, I would definitely make my own decision.

Thank you peachpurple for sharing and sometimes we have to follow even if we don't want to.
