   How did you meet your spouse or life partner?
   
   I will go first. I did the online dating thing in my 20s and 30s because I don't go to clubs or bars. I met my hubby on okcupid. We were shocked to  learn we lived less than a mile from each other. We were only friends in the beginning. Then about a yr later we were married. My first hubby I met at age 16 and we only made it 4 yrs together. I had my gf who was working a booth w me at the state fair to walk up to him and give him my number. Clearly we were too young and ignorant to make a marriage last.

   I met my wife at work. We worked in a Rehabilitation facility for people with serious brain injury - me as a nurse, and her as an occupational therapist.
   
   When we first met, we got on as friends. It was a few years later, we 'got together' - I was, by then, very much out at work (as gay), but she wasn't. When we left the place together on the same day (to move overseas for a brief period) I think many who didn't know guessed. (I hadn't guessed either, until she told me she was gay...my gaydar sucks!)
   
   We have been together 9 years next week - Civil Unioned (as that was all that was available at the time) for 5yrs on the same date - but we changed it to Marriage on our anniversary last year (due to a law change) - so it's our first (and fifth) anniversary!
   
   We have a 8mth old daughter, and still find that we love each other more every day.
   
   I wasn't a bar or night club kind of girl either - I tended to just look after the drinks, handbags or jackets of those dancing - so they didn't get spiked with drugs or stolen - rather than look a date!
   
   Many interesting places to find love though!

      Cute story. So were you allowed to date while you worked at the same place or did you wait til you both left the company? I have always been a sucker for love stories.

      Yup we were allowed - but very few people knew as she wasn't out at work. As long as it didn't involve a pt and u r professional at work, they didn't mind who dated who from what I know.

   We say we first met in our dreams when we were just kids. It is true. We had the same dream about sitting next to each other, playing. Anyway, we finally met as adults in person when he walked into the office where I worked. Our eyes met and there was this strong feeling of familiarity and an indescribable magnetic connection. He asked me out for the next night and we couldn't bear to be apart from that moment on. Next year will be our 30th wedding anniversary. We are so wildly, cosmically in love still.

      LOL. It does sound hard to believe, doesn't it? But it is true. It doesn't mean that we haven't had our bumps along the road because we most definitely have had many. But the love binds us.

   When I was 17 I was visiting Hutchinson Island, Florida with my friend Rick. While we were throwing a frisbee between us on the beach I viewed a beautiful bikini-clad young woman meandering north up the beach. Without thinking I aimed our frisbee to hit this beautiful soul and it happened. Boom I impacted her with the plastic disk on her derrière. I quickly ran up and apologized to this angel and we chatted for what seemed 2 minutes; although, Rick reminded me it was almost 2 hours! Within 2 weeks I was back home in Canada and about 1500 miles from my Aine True Love.
   Thank God for those old and obsolete AT&T international phone plans, we survived on that until we ended up closer in college (within 150 miles of each other). After graduating college we married (7 years after I hit her on her derrière).

      Thanks, misslong123! We have been married for 30 years now. Although my better half would add that John is still 18 for the 3rd time and his mental age is 1/3 of his chronological age as he still plays hockey...
