    There are thousands of groups in Some are good for making friends and many are not.  Don't judge it by being  Judge it by the individual group and how it is run.  Look at the history of the group and see if the organizer had been attending their own meetups.  I have gone to events where the organizer never showed up and the venue didn't know about it. Also check to see if there were a lot of rsvp's who didn't show. That will give you an idea of the character of the members.  Finally, click on the "about us" tag for the group you are considering.  If the organizer didn't create an about us page, then they may not be responsible enough to follow up with events either. In any case, do a search within for groups that match your interest. Make sure you insert your zip code so you find local groups.  The best way to meet people is to attend grousp that do things you are interested in. That way you find compatible people.
